FA Cup Quarter-Final Draw: Full Draw and Winner Odds Update

The draw for the FA Cup quarter-finals took place on Thursday night and there are some interesting ties to look forward to. The competition is drawing nearer to a close and familiar faces already have their sights set on silverware.
Of all the quarter-final fixtures, there is perhaps one game to particularly look out for. Chelsea will take on the competition’s surprise package in Middlesbrough at Riverside Stadium. On paper, the Blues might be favourites but in reality, it is far from the same story.
There was perhaps some disappointment in the sense that the top flight’s ‘big guns’ managed to avoid each other. However, there are two Premier League affairs on the cards. Manchester City must overcome the obstacle of Southampton to progress further. On the other hand, struggling Everton must scale through a difficult Crystal Palace at home.
Elsewhere, Liverpool will face the winners between Nottingham Forest or Huddersfield Town. The Championship duo will lock horns on Monday night with a rather daunting fixture lying in wait.
FA Cup Quarter-Final Draw:
- Crystal Palace v Everton or Boreham Wood
- Nottingham Forest or Huddersfield v Liverpool
- Middlesbrough v Chelsea
- Southampton v Manchester City
The FA Cup quarter-finals are scheduled to be played on the weekend of Friday, March 18 to Monday, March 21, 2022.
It is exactly a fortnight until the fixtures are played. Regardless, we already have the early predictions and betting insights to go with.
Nottingham Forest or Huddersfield Town vs Liverpool
Under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have laid their hands on all the major trophies. There is an exception to that though. The FA Cup remains missing in the German’s impressive haul. In fact, this would be the first time Liverpool would make it to the quarterfinal of the competition in the past six seasons.
While their exact opponent is not yet confirmed, Liverpool will fancy their chances at scaling past either side. I don’t see either of the Championship duo staging an upset here. It is a game that could come with many goals and full dominance from the Reds.
However, Liverpool have a ‘difficult’ fixture list surrounding this tie. The Reds have a clash with Arsenal just before and one with Manchester United right after. Even with a rotated squad, a goal-laden affair could be the order of the day.
- Nottingham Forest FA Cup Winner Odds: 67.00 (William Hill)
- Huddersfield FA Cup Winner Odds: 151.00 (Unibet)
- Liverpool FA Cup Winner Odds: 3.75 (bet365)
Crystal Palace vs Everton
Another Premier League affair will see Everton travel to Selhurst Park for a crunch clash against Crystal Palace. Both sides will fancy their chances of advancing to Wembley for the first time in six years.
However, there is a mood dampener in the fact that Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool could possibly be three out of the four semi-finalists.
Both sides have blown hot and cold this season and will be expected to go neck to neck in the rare hopes of silverware.
- Crystal Palace FA Cup Winner Odds: 19.00 (Unibet)
- Everton FA Cup Winner Odds: 12.00 (888Sport)
Middlesbrough vs Chelsea
If there is one tie that has prospects of an upset, there is no better one than this fixture. Off the pitch, it has been a rather tough period for Chelsea for obvious reasons. They could well have new owners before this game.
On the pitch, they have a difficult opponent to tackle as well. Having managed to come from behind twice against Luton Town in midweek, the Blues will need to be at their clinical best against Middlesbrough. Chris Wilder’s men do know how to defeat ‘giants’ and have already knocked out Manchester United and Tottenham from the competition this season,
Chelsea have not exactly been dominant of late and The Boro will come in thinking they can get a result. Not to forget the home atmosphere will do them extra good as well. Thomas Tuchel’s men remain favourites, on paper. In actual fact, it is a game that can go either way.
- Middlesbrough FA Cup Winner Odds: 61.00 (Unibet)
- Chelsea FA Cup Winner Odds: 5.50 (Skybet)
Southampton vs Manchester City
Despite their domestic dominance over the past decade, City have only won the FA Cup once in that time. That triumph came as part of their historic treble in 2019. However, it would be right to say they are the favourites to win it this time around.
Their commanding performances at the summit of the Premier League does justice to the above statement. The FA Cup is well known for surprises though and City could have their bogey team possibly waiting to strike again.
Guardiola’s men have failed to beat Southampton on two occasions already this season. To go with, the Saints are also unbeaten in their last five outings. It will take something special to stop Guardiola for the third time. However, I am expecting a rather conservative 90 minutes in this one.
- Southampton FA Cup Winner Odds: 21.00 (Betway)
- Manchester City FA Cup Winner Odds: 2.75 (Coral)
