I’ve chosen my three favourite bets on Friday night across Europe which involve relegation-threatened sides as well as clubs on the hunt for a potential place in Europe next season for bettingexpert News.

Strasbourg v PSG Best Bets

Heading to France with my first selection as Strasbourg are set to host newly crowned French champions PSG at Stade de la Meinau at 20:00. The home side are currently 6th in Ligue 1 and are in contention for a potential place in Europe next season.

It’s always hard to predict how motivated a team will be after winning the division especially with plenty of games to spare and that’s why I’m keen to get behind the home side. Backing Strasbourg with a handicap in our favour allows us to walk away with profit if they manage to avoid defeat.

Julien Stephan’s side have performed well at home this campaign, from their 17 league games the club from the east of the country have accumulated 34 points which has seen them win ten draw four and lose on just three occasions.

Since the turn of the year Strasbourg have played seven times at home winning five and drawing the other two. In that time they’ve welcomed some tricky opponents including the likes of Rennes, Monaco and Nice who all sit above them. Strasbourg earned a very respectable seven points from the possible nine against those three but may feel hard done by that it wasn’t more.

Although claiming the title, PSG haven’t exactly had the greatest results on the road, they’ve come away victorious in just 53% of away matches whilst drawing and losing four times each.

When travelling away to the top half sides the side from the capital have struggled massively. Within those eight games they have won just once, drawn three and lost the remaining four. It’s certainly a worrying statistic for a PSG fan but this definitely gives me some confidence getting on side with the hosts as they look to extend an unbeaten run in front of the home fans.

Sevilla v Cadiz Best Bets

Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan is the location for my next selection as Sevilla host a Cadiz side who are just a single point off the drop in Spain. The hosts have seen a flurry of goals in recent weeks in La Liga and that’s why I’m hoping for the same once again.

Sevilla have played Levante and Granada who are both currently in the relegation zone in two of their three most recent matches and on both times conceded twice. The desperation for the clubs down the foot of the table has certainly seemed to have shown in recent performances knowing they need the points in order to survive.

Cadiz haven’t been involved in too many goal heavy games this campaign but they have managed to score in six of their last seven which includes a goal at the Nou Camp. Knowing that the teams around them had success in finding the back of the net will give them confidence, although Sevilla walked away with maximum points on both occasions.

Given the high scoring games Sevilla have been involved in against the two sides who alongside Cadiz are fighting to stay up, the price on offer at 2.20 for both teams to find the back of the net seems slightly too big to turn down.

The hosts still have plenty to play for themselves, they’re currently third and at the moment in a comfortable position to confirm a place in next season’s Champions League however will know that nothing is confirmed.

Union Berlin v Furth Best Bets

Union Berlin are once again having a tremendous campaign, they currently occupy sixth spot but are just four points off a place in the Champions League group stages for the 2022/2023 season. They host rock bottom Greuther Furth at Stadion An der Alten Försterei in what should be a routine win.

The visitors have struggled on the road in the Bundesliga this season, they’re yet to come away victorious in any of their 15 matches which includes 12 defeats. The reverse fixture actually saw Furth take all three points but Friday’s clash should be much the opposite.

Urs Fischer’s side have won nine times at home in 15 matches and are best priced at 1.28 for the victory which is short but definitely understandable. I’m hoping for a home win but also adding a lack of goals to the victory which boosts the price a hefty amount.

Over the course of Union Berlin’s 15 home league matches in the top flight there has been an average of 2.33 goals per game which has seen them score 21 and concede 14 in that time. In the nine games they have won as hosts eight of those have seen under 3.50 match goals which is available at 2.00 with Skybet.

Furth have scored just 11 times on the road this season averaging just 0.73 goals per game and will have to put in a strong performance if they were to find the back of the net. Four of those 11 goals have been from either an own goal or scored from the penalty spot.

In what should be a comfortable three points for the hosts, the huge increase of price in backing a common theme in unders is an angle I’m willing to get behind. Union won’t want to have any slip ups on their hunt for European football.
