Luton vs Huddersfield Best Bet

England, Championship, Friday May 13th, 19:45 (UK time)

Both Huddersfield and Luton Town received fines less than three weeks ago for failing to control their players. The sanctions came following the match between the pair on the 11th of April.

Luton striker, Elijah Adebayo, missed a penalty in the 70th minute, which sparked handbags and three yellow cards to boot. Geoff Eltringham handed a booking apiece to Hatters duo Naismith and Onyedinma, whilst Sorba Thomas exited the scuffle with a caution, too.

As the playoff semi approaches, it’s difficult to overlook a bookings-focused punt. I expect Luton to give a good account of themselves as they have done all season at Kenilworth Road. However, Huddersfield should enter the match with confidence, considering they’re unbeaten over the last two seasons against Luton.

With a draw being a good result away from home in the first leg, more of the same will do for the Terriers and their travelling support. Quality-wise, we should see an equal match-up.

In the last four meetings between the sides, 6, 5, 5, and 5 cards were shown. So there’s certainly no love lost here.

Both teams boast a cards per90 average above the three needed for the proposed selection. Luton finished the season averaging 4.07 total cards. Huddersfield’s 3.72 per90 isn’t too far behind Nathan Jones’ Luton side.

Rob Jones has the whistle for Friday night’s clash. Jones has officiated only nine Championship matches this season with a 4.33 cards per game average. In 67% of those fixtures, both teams have seen a yellow card.

In the Premier League, where Jones has taken the reigns on a further 12 matches this term, that cards per90 average slumps to 2.75. The equal distribution of cards after the break also does, as 42% stands as the second half figure.

  • Selection: Over 2 Cards and Card Each SH
  • Best Odds: 1.86 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 10/10

Paços de Ferreira vs Benfica Best Bet

Portugal, Primeira Liga, Friday, May 13th, 20:15 (UK time)

Benfica come into the season’s final day in third place, far from what is expected of them in Lisbon. Stuck behind Porto and Sporting and unable to be caught from those behind, you could say that Friday is a nothing game.

Paços de Ferreira will play their part as hosts. In the last nine head-to-heads dating back to 2017, Benfica have proven victorious on each occasion. As a result, the difference in class is visible for all of Portugal to see, and I imagine the 34th match of the campaign takes a similar route.

Paços de Ferreira also enters the weekend with nothing to play for. Sat in 10th, in mid-table, the outfit from Porto no longer have to scrap for every point. With 29 goals scored this season, the Pacenses have the second-fewest goals total in the whole of the top flight, highlighting their most significant weakness.

On their day, Benfica should ease Friday night’s opponents aside. In the hope that they’re not already on their holidays, I recommend a Benfica-heavy bet builder.

Away from a result and goal which should, in theory, take care of itself, corners are next on the agenda. The travelling side averages 6.25 corners per90 when away from Lisbon. Across the last three seasons, Benfica’s corner totals read as follows when playing Paços de Ferreira: 9, 16, 11, 6, 7, and 10.

  • Selection: Benfica Win, Over 1 Goal & Over 4 Benfica Corners
  • Best Odds: 2.15 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 5/10

Annan vs Edinburgh City Best Bet

Scotland, League One, Friday, May 13th, 19:30 (UK time)

Edinburgh’s 2-0 victory in the first leg has left a sour taste for the hosts. Nevertheless, It’s expected to be a bumper crowd at the Galabank Stadium, with League One’s final club still undecided for next season.

The Charges find themselves in a position of needing to attack from the off. Edinburgh, however, will need to adopt a game plan that ensures they don’t invite too much pressure.

Across the last 25 Annan home fixtures, Peter Murphy’s men have registered an average of 1.75 goals scored per90, whilst conceding 1.67 at the other end. With so much on the line and the need to attack and clinch a result, we should see more of the same.

With 1.08 scored per90 on their travels and 1.54 shipped in the same timeframe, Edinburgh City are familiar with the net bulging at either end.

Considering the scoreline in front of a packed Galabank, Annan to win either half is something I’m willing to take on. If there is less than one goal scored on Friday, Annan remains in League Two. As a result, and due to the likely opportunities afforded to Edinburgh in search of the necessary goals, I’m fashioning another bet builder.

Including over 1 goal in the contest drags the selection up to 1.86 and provides a nice angle into Friday’s match-up.

  • Selection: Annan Win Either Half and Over 1 Goal
  • Best Odds: 1.86 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 10/10

WHAT IS A FOOTBALL ACCA?

A  football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
