Fulham vs Brighton Tip 1: Fantastic Fulham

England, Premier League, Saturday, March 03 15:00 (UK)

After a disappointing start to the season that saw them win just three of their opening 12 league games, Fulham have eased any early relegation fears and now sit 12 points clear of relegation and just six points from Europe.

Their 1-2 win over Manchester United last Saturday was fully deserved, with the Cottagers biding their time and delivering an extremely late blow through Alex Iwobi after the hosts thought they had sealed a point through Harry Maguire.

Marco Silva’s have now lost just two of their last seven league games – to Aston Villa and away to West London rivals Chelsea. Their form at Craven Cottage has been a major reason for their solid season thus far, picking up 22 points in 13 home games – the 8th-best record in the league.

Brighton, on the other hand, is seventh as they chase consecutive European finishes. On top of this, they are in the fifth round of the FA Cup and the last 16 of the Europa League, with their young squad stretched as they mount up injuries.

Interestingly, the Seagulls have played nine cup games (written before Wednesday’s trip to Wolves) and have only won one of their league games directly after. This has included 6-1 and 4-0 defeats at Aston Villa and Luton respectively and home draws to Fulham, Sheffield United and Wolves.

Roberto De Zerbi favours a high-intensity style of play, which, based on performances under him so far, works very well. However, Albion have had a torrid time with injuries this season and their young squad is perhaps struggling with the packed schedule.

Brighton have also notoriously struggled against Fulham, with their last victory coming nine matches ago in the 2017 Championship season.

In addition, they have only won four away games all season, with two of them coming in their two openers. With a depleted squad and this game being sandwiched between away FA Cup and Europa League games, Fulham may fancy their chances of taking all three points.

Fulham vs Brighton Tip 2: Goals Expected At The Cottage

With 36 goals scored and 42 conceded in 26 goals this season, Fulham games have averaged exactly three goals per game, with over 2.5 goals landing in 16/26 games. This includes four in their last four (2-2 vs Burnley, 3-1 vs Bournemouth, 1-2 vs Aston Villa & 1-2 vs Manchester United).

Brighton has been known for goals this season, with a league-high 21/26 of their games seeing BTTS. The constant rotation between the experienced Jason Steele and the youthful Bart Verbruggen in goal has perhaps been a contributing factor, with both keepers ranking low in underlying metrics.

The Seagulls also play high-risk possession football, often giving the ball away in their own half. This has led to them conceding nine more goals away from home than at home, with nine of their 13 away games seeing over 2.5 goals.

With two teams who will go for the win, an end-to-end game is expected, which normally spells goals.

  • Fulham vs Brighton Tip 2: Over 2.5, 3.0 Goal Line
  • Best Odds: 1.850

  • Stake: 7/10

Fulham vs Brighton Tip 3: Purple Patch For Muniz

Since arriving at Fulham in 2021, Rodrigo Muniz has struggled for consistency and form, failing to make an impact while on loan at Middlesbrough last season.

However, after being trusted by Marco Silva and afforded more game-time this season, the 22-year-old has shone. In his last four starts, Muniz has scored four goals. The purple patch started in the 2-2 draw at Burnley, with Muniz scoring an early goal and recording three shots.

He then scored a brace in a 3-1 win over Bournemouth, scoring both his shots from an xG of 0.88. His 63rd-minute striker against Aston Villa came in vain as Fulham lost 1-2 to Aston Villa. In this match, Muniz had eight shots, scoring one.

Despite not scoring in the shock victory against Manchester United, Muniz performed like a man full of confidence, recording five shots.

Averaging 0.52 goals and an xG of 0.40 per90, alongside 4.00 shots per90, Muniz is a generous place to score against a leaky defence.

  • Fulham vs Brighton Tip 3: Rodrigo Muniz to score
  • Best Odds: 3.10
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 5/10

Fulham vs Brighton Team News and Possible Lineups: Key absentees for Both Sides

The experienced Raul Jiminez and Willian are doubts for the game with muscle injuries. The duo have nine Premier League goals between them, so there will be big misses.

Star man Joao Palhinha, who scored the equaliser in the reverse fixture, misses the game as he is serving the second match of his suspension due to ten yellows.

Brighton, as they have done all season, are missing a host of players for this match. James Milner, Solly March, Kaoru Mitoma, Joao Pedro and Jack Hinshelwood are expected to be out, while Billy Gilmour misses out after being sent off in the 1-1 draw with Everton.

One positive is the return of the extremely talented Julio Enciso from injury, with the Paraguayan looking lively off the bench against Everton.

Fulham possible starting lineup:
Leno; Castagne, Adarabioyo, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Reed, Pereira, Wilson, Iwobi; Muniz

Brighton possible starting lineup:
Verbruggen; Lamptey, Dunk, Van Hecke, Igor; Baleba, Groß; Buonanotte, Enciso, Adingra; Welbeck
