There’s a Getafe vs Celta Vigo prediction, team news and lineups preview for your attention, penned by our expert, Nathan Joyes. Getafe and an underwhelming Celta Vigo, who won 0-3 away from home at the weekend, will both be eyeing this La Liga fixture as one they can take points from. That could well lead to a rather entertaining affair.

Spain, La Liga, Sunday, February 11th, 13:00 (UK)
It’s safe to say neither of these teams have pulled up any trees this year, in particular Celta Vigo who are dangerously flirting with relegation.
Although Getafe are firmly placed in the middle of La Liga, recent form has been rather concerning, especially from a defensive point of view.
Condeding 10 goals from their last five matches has seen them only collect four points from a possible 15.
At the Coliseum, Getafe’s early good home form has deteriorated. Losing 2-0 to Rayo Vallecano, 3-1 to Sevilla and 2-0 to Real Madrid, with a theme of goals conceded.
Whether it be crosses in-play or from set pieces, Getafe are struggling to deal with the basics. Whether it be not picking up runners, poor goalkeeper positioning, or a lack of concentration, Getafe have been a mess when it comes to defensive organisation.
Celta Vigo’s Jorgen Strand Larsen is their top goalscorer, and although he hasn’t scored many of late, he’ll be looking to play to his strengths and look to be on the end of crosses.
However, Getafe have still shown they are capable of scoring. Borja Mayoral has 14 league goals and he’ll once again be their main threat vs a Celta Vigo side which has conceded 17 goals in 10 away matches.
They’ve only managed one clean sheet in their last five away matches on the road, where BTTS Yes landed in all four, which is why 2.0 appears to be a great price for two vulnerable defences.
Getafe vs Celta Vigo Prediction odds via bet365 as at 10:00, February 5th, 2024. Odds may now differ.
For the hosts, after a Mason Greenwood penalty was cancelled out by Isco converting his for Real Betis at the weekend, they’ll be hoping for another positive result here. Both Djene and Jordi Martin left the field with knocks on the weekend, though it’s too early to predict the level of their involvement vs Celta Vigo. Juanmi Latasa will likely continue up top, pushing Mason Greenwood out wide.
Right winger, Tadeo Allende, came off the bench for Celta Vigo in their 0-3 win at the weekend. Celta’s number nine has swapped the Argentinian top-flight for sunny Spain, with Rafael Benetiz hoping he can inject some much-needed attacking vigour in forward areas. Allende will be pushing for a start in the coming weeks. With the Ivory Coast beating Mali at AFCON, Jonathon Bamba will again be absent for a Celta Vigo away jaunt in La Liga.
Getafe possible starting lineup:
Soria; Suarez, Duarte, Alderete, Alvarez; Greenwood, Dakonam, Milla, Maksimovic; Mayoral, Latasa
Celta Vigo possible starting lineup:
Guaita; U Nunez, Starfelt, Dominguez; Mingueza, Tapia, De la Torre, M Sanchez; Douvikas, Aspas, Larsen
