With Perth Glory coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in the reverse fixture, Sterjovski will be keen to ensure his side remains professional and delivers a performance to boot in this weekend’s A-League fixture.

Macarthur vs Perth Glory Tip 1: Bulls to Bulldoze through Glory

Australia, A League, Sunday , January 28th, 06:00 (UK)

Macarthur sits fifth after an inconsistent start to the season, winning five, drawing six and losing three of their 14 games. While they are unbeaten in four, they’ve only won one of these games – a 3-1 win over Brisbane Roar.

Regardless, this season has already been a major improvement on last season’s dismal showing, with the Bulls finishing rock bottom of the league on just 26 points. Macarthur’s games have certainly been entertaining, with them scoring in 13/14 league games thus far and also keeping just one clean sheet.

Perth Glory have had a massively disappointing season and are now ten points off the playoffs, so all the remaining focus will be on not finishing bottom. Alen Stajcic’s side has the second-worst defensive record in the league, conceding 29 goals in just 13 games.

Glory have only kept one clean sheet this season, conceding two or more goals in 11 of their 13 games. They rank joint last in terms of away record, sitting on just four points from seven games, conceding 16 goals.

While Macarthur are inconsistent, the return to goalscoring form for Ulises Davilla and Valere Germain is enough cause for optimism against a leaky Perth Glory defence.

  • Macarthur vs Perth Glory Tip 1: Macarthur to Win
  • Best Odds: 1.83

  • Stake: 9/10

Macarthur vs Perth Glory Tip 2: Value in corners

Macarthur ranks mid-table for home corners, averaging 6.71 corners per game at Campbelltown Stadium. They’ve hit 4,7,3,10,8,13,2 corners so far.

However, Sterjovski’s side also concede the third most home corners on average (7.14), conceding 10,5,12,7, 6, 1, and 9. The Over 12 Asian Corner line has only lost on one occasion at home for Macarthur – at home to Western United, where the game ended on 11 corners.

As for Perth Glory, while their corners per game average is low, they rank second for corners conceded per game (8.00). They’ve conceded 7, 3, 7, 15, 11, 3 and 9 corners away from this season, with the Over 12 Asian Corner line winning in 4/8 away games.

An added caveat to the bet is the reverse saw a 9-8 corner split.

  • Macarthur vs Perth Glory Tip 2: Over 12.0 Asian Corners
  • Best Odds: 2.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 5/10

Macarthur vs Perth Glory Tip 3: Talisman Taggart

Despite tipping Macarthur for the win, Adam Taggart presents a nice price to add to his eight goals so far this season.

The 30-year-old has scored eight goals in 12 starts, only failing to score twice in his last eight games. Taggart is averaging a 0.73 xG per 90, as well as 4.43 shots and 2.00 shots on target per 90.

Macarthur has only kept two clean sheets this season, with one of them coming against a Sydney side that played 75 minutes with ten men. On top of this, Perth Glory will fancy their chances of scoring once – something they have done in 12/13 games. With Perth conceding 2+ in 11/13, Taggart will need to be in fine form if his side are to get a result from this game.

  • Macarthur vs Perth Glory Tip 3: Adam Taggart to Score Anytime
  • Best Odds: 2.60
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 5/10
