Man United vs Liverpool Preview

Arguably the biggest game in the world of football takes place on Monday night as Erik ten Hag welcomes Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to Old Trafford with both sides still looking for their first wins of the Premier League season.

It’s been a disastrous start for the hosts, losing back to back games against Brighton and Brentford which were more than deserved, the club is a bit of a mess at the moment, the fans are protesting against the owners and some underwhelming transfer targets haven’t gone down well with the supporters.

Liverpool have drawn both of their matches this season, the first coming against newbies, Fulham and then a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at Anfield which saw big money signing Darwin Nunez sent off on the hour mark.

Liverpool do arrive here as favourites and if anything similar happens on Monday night at Old Trafford as it did last season then things will get a whole lot worse for Man United, due to the poor starts from either side I will be opting for a bet builder selection via bet365 for this clash.

I expect Liverpool to come out firing and they will know if they can take the lead early on it could turn ugly. In both games between the sides last campaign Liverpool were ahead within the first five minutes and we all know what happened after that.

Man United have conceded all six of their goals inside the first 45 minutes and Liverpool will be looking to add to that tally. Five of their eight bookings have come after the halftime interval and once again i’ll be backing them to see at least one more on Monday night.

This selection landed in both games last season and with the problems Man United currently have throughout the club we could quite easily see it land once again.

Fram vs Breidablik Preview

Iceland, Besta-Deild Karta, Monday, August 22nd, 20:15 (UK)

Heading to Iceland with my second selection as a familiar name are in action as Breidablik head to Reykjavik as they play against 8th placed Fram and a goals-based angle is the preferred play here.

Both sides have played 17 games in the league this season, Fram have seen 71 goals scored in their matches whilst Breidablik have seen a few less with 65. These sides met in May in matchday seven which saw seven goals scored in a 4-3 win for the league leaders.

The last four matches involving Fram have seen 19 goals with four or more coming in each of those matches. 18 goals have been scored in Breidablik’s last five league matches and given the firepower of each side I wouldn’t be surprised if four or more goals were scored in this match.

Fram vs Breidablik Best Bet

This game should have nothing but goals, Fram have been in great form and should arrive here with plenty of confidence. Breidablik are the best team in the division and could easily score a handful alone on their day.

I belive both sides will get on the scoresheet in Iceland and given the recent match between these clubs four or more goals is certainly achievable here at a really nice price.

Sampdoria vs Juventus Preview

Italy, Serie A, Monday, August 22nd, 19:45 (UK)

Juventus started the season with a 3-0 win over Sassuolo, Di Maria opened the scoring and Dusan Vlahovic bagged a brace to put the game to bed within the hour mark. Sampdoria lost at home to Atalanta and didn’t really trouble Juan Musso’s goal having just one shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.

In recent meetings the Old Lady have enjoyed plenty of success, winning the last six league meetings stretching back three seasons. Juventus beat Sampdoria in all three clashes last season including a 4-1 hammering in the Coppa Italia and once again i’ll be getting onside with Italian giants to overcome their opponent. A goals-based angle combined with an away win will be the play here.

Dusan Vlahovic will be full of confidence after scoring twice on the opening day and will be looking to score once again at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa. That Fiorentina squad doesn’t exactly scream goals and that showed on the opening day so they’ll have to be on the top of their game if they were to find the back of the net at home.

Even with a handful of injuries, this Juventus side is much better than their upcoming opponents, recent success will give the visitors confidence coming here and if they can score twice then they should be walking away from here with maximum points.
