Here at bettingexpert Expert Insights, we have constructed a bet builder for the huge clash in Italy on Friday night as league leaders, Napoli, welcome an in-form Juventus side as they meet for the first time this season.
In this article:
Friday, January 13th, 19:45 (UK)
It’s been a tremendous first half of the season for Luciano Spalletti and his side. They’re sitting pretty in top spot and have scored the most goals in the top flight. Victor Osimhen leads the way in terms of the scoring table, the Nigerian has bagged 10 times in just 13 appearances whilst Georgian youngster, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, also known as Kvaradona has been one of the stars of the season across the continent, let alone Italy.
Juventus have pretty much come from nowhere in recent weeks, they now sit 2nd in the table just seven points behind their upcoming opponents. Defensively, the side from Turin have been remarkable. Only seven goals have ended up in the back of their net and they have now gone eight straight games without conceding in Serie A.
Napoli have scored 39 times in total across the league campaign. They have an xG of 36.7, the best by any side in Italy’s top flight. Interestingly, Juventus have appeared to be rather fortunate in defensive areas and the seven goals they have conceded corresponds to a much greater 17.4 xGA.
Those eight consecutive wins to nil for Juventus has seen them concede double-digit shot numbers in seven games. It’ll be hard to see them maintain that impressive streak against a Napoli side that records extremely high shot numbers when playing at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Gli Azzurri have recorded a whopping 165 shots in their eight matches in Naples, averaging over 20 per 90 minutes. They’ll know that Juventus have been a tough nut to crack in recent times but they have more than enough firepower and creativity to break them down. A win here will keep their lead at the top by at least seven given Milan also earn maximum points.
With Napoli’s impressive stats when playing at home, backing them to score on the night seems a nice approach to start the bet builder with. As mentioned previously, no side has left the city with a clean sheet all season and that stat dates back all the way to March 6th in round 28 of the 21/22 season. Juventus have ridden their luck as of late and that may turn when visiting the top scorers in the division.
Alongside a strong scoring record at home, Napoli also put up some decent corner numbers with 57 coming in total averaging slightly over seven per match. They’ve taken four or more corners in all eight matches with five plus banking in seven. Five teams from eight have earned five or more corners when hosting Allegri’s side with the others taking exactly three, you’d like to think Napoli can rack up another four at least here.
Victor Osimhen, the man that can change the game on Friday night for his side, the 24-year-old has had two or more shots in 12 games from 13 this campaign and most recently five attempts in the most recent clash. When at home the forward has had three or more efforts in all six clashes, with 32 coming in total. The shot prices for the leading goalscorer are short, which comes as little surprise but when he averages a hefty five per game, it’s what you have to expect.
