Newcastle will be looking to build on their impressive second half of the 2021/2022 season, where they finished in 11th place against all odds. At some points, bookmakers had them as one of the top relegation candidates but the arrival of Eddie Howe and some player additions changed the narrative.
Money will not be an issue for the Magpies and we will take a look at Newcastle’s transfer odds, and the players who have the best transfer odds for the club.
Eddie Howe has already set his intentions straight and claims he wants the club to sort out signings quickly. Newcastle finished last season with a tally of 49 points and it is no coincidence that 36 of those points came in 2022, after the arrival of new names in January.
Having signed five players in the winter window, Newcastle are expected to make another foray into the transfer market this summer. A goalkeeper will be high on the priority list while there is a need for firepower up front in the form of a striker.
Another central defender will also be targeted, especially with the future of Jamaal Lascelles looking uncertain. One more midfielder could come in for luxury but the Magpies can still make do with their current options for another season.
According to bookmakers, here are the players with the best odds to join Newcastle next season:

For a side with renewed ambitions of possibly making the top four next season, Newcastle know they need a better goalkeeper than Martin Dubravka. To that effect, Eddie Howe has identified Manchester United’s Dean Henderson as an ideal replacement between the sticks.
Henderson has reportedly agreed terms with Newcastle but all that remains is the structure of the deal as talks continue between the club and Manchester United. Several sources claim it could be a loan deal while United are looking for a permanent exit. Regardless, he is the most likely name to join the Magpies this summer, with transfer odds of 1.05.
Dean Henderson is currently at odds 1.05 to sign with Newcastle
Newcastle will definitely go all out for a striker and the latest reports hint at a likely move for the Reims youngster Hugo Ekitike. However, if the move fails to materialize, Calvert-Lewin will be the go-to man in search of a striker.
It won’t be the first time the Magpies have chased the Everton star, who could be tempted by the prospect of leading a new project at Tyneside. With Everton looking to raise funds for transfers, they could be tempted to cash in on one of their top names. Newcastle are the favourites for his signature, with odds at 1.25.
Dominic Calvert Lewin is currently at odds 1.25 to sign with Newcastle
Jesse Lingard is officially a free agent after ending his 22-year relationship with Manchester United. The Englishman is in search of a new club and has a preference to remain in the Premier League.
Having excelled in a loan stint with West Ham, the Hammers are the favourites to sign Lingard, with odds at 2.25 while Newcastle are next in line with 4.50. However, the Magpies are unwilling to meet his weekly wages of £150,000 and that could hinder any plans of a move.
Jesse Lingard is currently at odds 4.50 to sign with Newcastle
Darwin Nunez is the darling of European giants after a brilliant season with Benfica. He could be on his way out of the club and a big move looks likely.
Benfica’s asking fee of at least £70m is not expected to scare Newcastle but they are at a disadvantage in the race for his signature. Manchester United and Liverpool lead the race with odds of 2.50 and it is no surprise given that the player is in search of European football next term. Newcastle’s odds of 12.00 shows they are mere outsiders in the conversation.
Darwin Nunez is currently at odds 12.00 to sign with Newcastle
What are the odds of Newcastle breaking their transfer record twice in the space of six months? Well, this must happen if they are to complete the signing of highly-rated Lucas Paqueta. Poetically, Bruno Guimaraes is the club’s current record signing was teammates with Paqueta during his time at Lyon.
The French giants are demanding £50m to sell their prized asset and Newcastle are favourites to land his signature, with odds of 1.44.
