Things were soon to turn sour however when Ruan Tressoldi was sent off just before half time. Udinese made the most of their numerical advantage by scoring three times in the final 15 minutes. The 3-1 defeat dropped the Neroverdi into the bottom half of Serie A.
Torino vs Sassuolo Best Bet
Torino will be confident of claiming all three points against visitors who have just one win in their last nine road trips. The lowest scorers in the top half of the table will be looking to Nikola Vlasic to help achieve that objective. The 24-year-old is responsible for half of his side’s six league goals this term. The blank against Inter ended his personal run of scoring in three successive games. Not for the want of trying though, firing in four shots with three on target. Vlasic continues to be his side’s greatest threat and I am taking him to get back on the goal trail here.

Lille vs Toulouse Preview
France, Ligue 1, Saturday, September 17th, 20:00 (UK)
Lille continues to be consistently inconsistent. Never repeating a result in their opening seven games. Alternating losses and wins in their last five. The last of which being a 2-1 defeat to Marseille at the weekend despite taking a 12th minute lead. Les Logues will look to improve their poor home record here. Having taken maximum points just twice from their last nine attempts at Stade Pierre Mauroy.
The visitors will look to build on Sunday’s defeat of Reims. A win which snapped a three game losing sequence. Philippe Montanier will be relieved to have ended that run but will be generally content in currently occupying 11th place. The newly promoted side can leapfrog the 2020/21 champions with another win here.
These sides have just two clean sheets between them in the French top flight this season. Both of which belong to the Violets. Four of the previous five meetings have seen at least three goals. That run is likely to be extended.
Lille vs Toulouse Best Bet
It therefore makes sense to get the top scorer of these two clubs onside. Admittedly the 22-year-old has had a couple of quiet outings in recent weeks. He saw little of the ball in the defeat to Marseille but still made the keeper work with his only effort. The Canadian international has had an overall great start to the season with four goals in seven appearances. Averaging exactly three shots per game he has certainly been getting in the right positions. This represents a fantastic opportunity to get back amongst the goals.

Atlanta vs Philadelphia Union Preview

Philadelphia continued their white hot form with a 5-1 destruction of Orlando City on Saturday. That made it five successive wins for Jim Curtin’s men and an incredible 11 from their last 13 MLS fixtures. The Union have now scored 23 goals in those last five games. A record high over a five game sample in since the league began. To complement that they have only conceded 22 times. The lowest total after 31 games ever seen in MLS history.
Atlanta have bounced back after losing successive matches. The first of which was a 4-1 defeat to Philadelphia on August 31st. They have since recorded two back-to-back victories of their own, beating Toronto and Orlando. Despite welcoming daunting visitors United at least boast a fine home record. Losing just three of their last 22 games at their own stadium.

Despite that impressive home record it is impossible to fade Philadelphia in their current mood. One man who has played a massive part in putting such a rampant run of form together is Daniel Gazdag. The Hungarian has 19 goals for the season and is the third top scorer in the league. Once again getting his name on the scoresheet in the weekend rout of Orlando. That goal extended his scoring streak to five consecutive games, and has fired 12 goals in his last 12 appearances. The 26-year-old scored the last time these two sides met and is also on penalties. Which makes the 3.20 on offer to score for a sixth straight game a stand out price.
