The Champions League rounds off the European football calendar, and Liverpool come into the match as the deserved favourites after a remarkable run of form since the new year.

Liverpool survived a first half scare in the first half of their semi-final, but they rallied in the second half and secure a comprehensive victory. Klopp has successfully navigated his team to the final of every competition they were in this year, and they will be looking to finish their season on a high here.
Real Madrid have navigated the more difficult path to the final, conquering PSG; last year’s winner Chelsea, and this year’s favourites Manchester City. The 13 times winners of the tournament will be hoping to replicate those miraculous successes here and overcome Klopp’s relentless Liverpool side.
Ibrahim Konate is likely to start to combat the threat posed by Benzema. Van Dijk looks set to feature after coming through a slight injury picked up in the FA Cup final. Thiago and Fabinho have also been injured, and it is unlikely that both of these will start the match.

Liverpool have put their opponents under significant pressure in all of their matches this season. This was perhaps best illustrated when they fielded a weakened team against Southampton, and still managed to dominate.
This level of domination quite often results in the opponent having a large number of goal kicks. Liverpool opponents are averaging over 11 goal kicks per game in their last 10 matches. Surprisingly, Real Madrid are averaging 9.7 goal kicks per game themselves in their last 10 matches. The numbers suggest that Salah and co will be able to get at the Spanish giants here. Bet365 have the Madrid goal kick line at 8.5 and I’ll add that to our builder here.
Karim Benzema has been vital to Madrid’s success in the competition this season. The Frenchman has netted 15 times in the Champions League this season, and he is just two goals behind the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo.
If Madrid are to be successful here, they’ll need their talisman to be on form and I expect him to be up for this one. Benzema is averaging 4.2 shots per game in the Champions League this season, and bet365 have his over 2.5 shot line priced at 1.66.
Throws can be a tricky market for a final, but I’m happy to back there to be a good amount here. These two teams met in this competition a couple of years ago, and there were 46 and 55 in their second and first leg respectively. Liverpool matches in the Champions League this season are averaging just under 40 throws per game, but Madrid games are averaging just under 35.
Given the fact that this is a final and both teams should be raring to go, I’ll be adding over 38.5 throws in the match to the bet builder here.
The final angle is offsides. Liverpool opponents are averaging over three offsides per game in the competition this season. Madrid themselves are averaging 2.55, and Liverpool’s highline coupled with the threat of Vinicius looking to break should result in a few Madrid offsides here.
By adding over 2.5 offsides for Madrid to our builder, we get a nice price of 10.00. This angle landed in both legs of Madrid’s semi-final against Man City, and this game should play out in a similar manner.

A bet builder is a kind of accumulator bet solely focussed on one match. A standard acca features multiple selections across different selections combined together into one bet. If one selection loses, the whole bet loses. A bet builder is similar but each selection is placed on the same match. Similar to the American prop bet, the bet builder goes into detail on a single match. Common selections include match outcome, total goals, cards, corners, and players to score.
