Here at bettingexpert, we’ve had a look at Wednesday’s fixtures in Serie A and picked out three selections with every chance. First up, two exciting wingers who have packed their shooting boots for Serie A fans, plus a double favouring those who should win on home soil.

Playing on the left of a front three next to Luka Jovic occupying the middle, Riccardo Sottil has recorded six and four attempts in his two Serie A starts this season. The lofty six total came against top-flight new boys, Cremonese, with the four shots, all of which were on target, registered versus a free-flowing Napoli side in a 0-0 draw. Sottil entered the field at half-time in his other appearance in Empoli, a 45-minute showing that suggested he left his shooting boots on the bench.
The two European fixtures played in and around Sottil’s opening matches in Italy this term saw the winger hit one and three against the dutch outfit, FC Twente.
In 2021/22, Sottil’s shots per90 average ended on 0.9. However, the Fiorentina man’s average minutes on the pitch clocked up to 52 minutes per game, spanning 24 outings (14 starts). This season, in what should see much more involvement in the starting eleven for Sottil, the 23-year-old has racked up 4.33 shots per90 average from 2.3 ’90s’.
The 2.3 90s highlights how small of a sample size we’re working with, but Sottil has begun his campaign with a point to prove.

Bet365’s 1.53 price for Abdelhamid Sabiri to land two shots in Lazio’s visit is a little short to get in the article. Yet, it does highlight the volume of shots Sabiri has been firing at goal this season. Like Riccardo Sottil mentioned above, the Lazio winger has had an explosive start to life in Serie A this season.
Five (Coppa Italia), 7, 4, and 2 attempts make up Sabiri’s shots totals to date this term. With the Moroccan spearheading free-kick duties at the club, there’s a guarantee for shots if Sampdoria can pick up niggly fouls around Lazio’s box. Sabiri has attempted four shots from dead ball situations in his three opening Serie A matches, two more than any other player in the league.
Sabiri’s average shooting distance of 23.3 yards from goal highlights that he’s comfortable pulling the trigger not long after entering the final third – a welcome trait for shots punters.
Again, we’re working with a small dataset, but Sabiri’s figure of 13 attempts at goal has him behind only Victor Osimhen (17) and Lautaro Martínez (15) as the top three highest shot totals in the division. With the attacking intent on show, it’s no wonder Jose Mourinho has reportedly been sniffing around the Sampdoria man.

Lecce head to Napoli winless with one point on the board, whilst their hosts may have been held to a 0-0 draw midweek but showed plenty of promise in their 9-2 aggregate wins beforehand vs Verona and Monza. It should be routine for Napoli on paper, hence the over 1.5 goals selection to accompany the win.

For the Old Lady, Spezia travels to Turin to play a Juventus side coming off the back of two disappointing draws. They will be out to lay a marker down, with Spezia, the unlucky outfit tasked with avoiding a Juve bounce back. Spezia’s four points from three matches is an excellent return for the Aquilotti, but their one loss, the 3-0 vs Inter Milan, proved how big the gulf is between them and the top sides at times. Spezia could only muster two shots to Inter’s 19 – a dominant display from the Lombardy super club.
In their last four head-to-heads, Juventus have ticked off the proposed selection in 3/4, with the 1-0 in Turin in 2020/21 falling short.
This is not usually an approach I’d take – two shortly priced favourite picks to make a double, but both sides should have enough to get three points on Wednesday night. And if the big boys are both on it, they could return profits in some fashion.
