This one can only be described as a six-pointer. Hoffenheim are one point above the relegation play-off spot and four points ahead of Schalke. A win would see them pull clear of Sunday’s opponents, defeat could see them move into the bottom three.

Schalke have improved in the last few matches and they have given themselves a fighting chance against relegation. The team from Gelsenkirchen were competing in the latter stages of the Champions League just over a decade ago. Since then they have fallen on hard times. They now risk going back down to the second tier after earning promotion last season.
