It’s a South American-focused three selections on Sunday evening here for bettingexpert. First up, a whistle-stop tour of São Paulo provides the backdrop to a trek to Northeastern Brazil in Ceará. Then, sandwiched in between the Brazilian pairing is a Chilean jaunt with goals on the agenda.

Palmeiras v Internacional Preview

Brazilian Serie A, Sunday, 24th July, 20:00 (UK Time)

In Palmeiras’ last five matches on home soil in the Serié A, Copa do Brasil, and the Libertadores, the current leading light in Brazilian football has racked up a selection of lofty corner totals. The Verdão hit 11, 14, 8, 9, and 12 flags on familiar soil in São Paulo – a nod towards their sustained pressure in the final third and how they approach matches.

In the Serié A, Palmeiras’ bread and butter, their corners per90 average at home stands as the best in the division. Head and shoulders above the rest, the 9.00 corners forced per90 leaves RB Bragantino (7.10) and Sunday’s opponents Internacional (7.00) in second and third.

Palmeiras v Internacional Best Bet

Instead of taking the 7+ Palmeiras corner line at 2.10, it’s the match corner line that should add a little security. Siding with 11+ at 2.10 allows Internacional to chip in if chasing the game at the 40,000-seated Allianz Parque. Not only have Palmeiras reached 7+ corners in their last five fixtures, but the match flag line has nudged to 11+ on each occasion.

In the head-to-head match-ups between the pair, 11, 10, 12, 9 and 6 corners make up the statistics for the most-recent five meetings. As first meets sixth in the table on Sunday evening, we can expect a full-blooded affair. More of the same from the hosts, and we should be fine in Brazil.

  • Selection: 11+ Match Corners
  • Best Odds: 2.10 (Skybet)
  • Stakes: 10/10

Fortaleza v Santos Preview

Brazil, Serie A, Sunday, 24th July, 23:00 (UK Time)

Both Fortaleza and Santos go into Sunday evening’s fixture with the lowest goal totals this season at home and away, respectively. In front of home support, Fortaleza’s ten goals at home (4 scored/6 conceded) is the fewest in Série A this term for a home side. On the road, Santos mirrors Fortaleza’s rather barren showings, their 14 goals (6 scored/8 conceded) the fewest in the division.

Fortaleza v Santos Best Bet

Instantly, the under-goal markets naturally spring to mind. However, at 1.57 for under 2.5 goals, you’ll soon see that the bookmakers are one step ahead. Nevertheless, we can utilise the bet builder function here to our advantage. Fortaleza and Santos have only one win each on the home/away standings this season, so a runaway victory is likely not on the cards.

Fortaleza find themselves with just one win in their last eight matches in all competitions. Despite being favourites for the tie on Sunday, it’s the Draw or Santos Double Chance market at 1.72 that offers much more value than Draw or Fortaleza at 1.22. Pulling Santos’ double chance angle together with under 2.5 goals at 2.37 is something I’m willing to get on board with.

I’d tread carefully here as neither side should pull up any trees on Sunday. A 0-0 bore draw will do nicely.

  • Selection: Santos or Draw & U2.5 Goals
  • Best Odds: 2.37 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 7/10

O’Higgins v Universidad de Chile Preview

Chile Primeira Division, Saturday, July 24th, 20:00 (UK Time)

Last but by no means least, it’s off to Chile we go. O’Higgins (9th) welcomes Universidad de Chile (11th) to town with just three points separating the two in the table.

Looking at the cold, hard stats, BTTS sticks out amongst the data this season. O’Higgins have been a go-to for BTTS backers at home, returning profits in 7/9 fixtures, including four of the last five. On the other hand, those in the away dressing room provide a 69% strike rate for BTTS on their travels.

O’Higgins v Universidad de Chile Best Bet

Universidad de Chile have managed ten goals in nine away fixtures whilst recording one win and one draw in nine. The 1.11 goals scored per90 away from home is one of the most prolific in Chile’s top flight this season. O’Higgins ranks fifth for goals scored at home this campaign – 15 strikes from nine games, supplying a 1.66 goals per90 total for us to work with.

Worryingly, only three of ten recent head-to-heads have overseen both sides scoring. Here’s hoping that the current season’s form outmuscles the head-to-head data.

  • Selection: Yes on BTTS
  • Best Odds: 1.87 (Boylesports)
  • Stakes: 10/10

WHAT IS A FOOTBALL ACCA?

A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
