I really wasn’t impressed with how Villarreal performed at Anfield, they looked as if they were well out of their depth for large parts of the 90 and in all fairness, the scoreline flattered them despite being 2-0. Therefore backing the hosts to have less than nine shots will be the first selection in my bet builder.

Liverpool have scored after halftime in all five Champions League away games, I feel they could catch the hosts out who will be flooding men forward and kill the tie off with the abundance of attacking talent they have. This will be my second selection.

It’s pretty remarkable how often Liverpool catch their opponents out in an offside position, Villarreal found themselves offside on three different occasions at Anfield despite a lack of attacking threat. Once again I’m adding the hosts to register three offsides in the second leg.

In Liverpool’s last most recent fixture they forced their opponents into being caught in an offside position a staggering nine times, the high press from the Reds is a prime reason why it works so successfully.

The three selections I have combined pay a very nice price of 4.33 and are something I’m more than happy to place, I find it hard to see any real change in performance from the Spanish side after a dismal display last week. Klopp’s team have been on fire for pretty much the whole season and with still every single competition available to win I feel they will relish this game with a place in the final up for grabs.
