As the weekend approaches, I’ve picked out my favourite five matches for goals across Saturday and Sunday for bettingexpert News. There are three selections on Saturday in Germany and England and two more on Sunday in both Denmark and Belgium.
In this article:
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, August 13th, 14:30 (UK)
Two sides who suffered opening day defeats in Germany as Hertha host a H2H that has produced plenty of goals in recent seasons, the last six meetings have seen both sides score a total of three or more goals in the match.
Hertha lost 3-1 in their opener against Union Berlin whilst Frankfurt were destroyed by current champions Bayern Munich in a game that ended 6-1. Frankfurt ended last season in 11th despite winning the Europa League however Hertha found themselves in a relegation play-off spot after leaking the second most goals in the league.
Given the last six meetings have produced plenty of goals with both sides contributing, combing the winning selections once again pays a lovely looking price. Neither side can defend well so it’ll most likely be a shootout for the points in Berlin.
Germany, Bundesiga, Saturday, August 13th, 14:30 (UK)
Heading to Germany once more with a BTTS selection that has been profitable since these sides matched up for the first time in the top flight. Leipzig and Koln have clashed 10 times in recent seasons in the Bundesliga. Both teams have scored in nine of those games including both fixtures last campaign.
Leipzig opened their Bundelsiga account with a 1-1 draw in Stuttgart whilst Koln won 3-1 against newboys Schalke at the RheinEnergieStadion.
The recent meetings speak for themselves so a price at 1.75 on offer for another goal-friendly game is certainly worth backing. Koln will take some confidence heading to the Red Bull Arena after picking up three points on the opening day and could cause plenty of problems on Saturday afternoon.
England, Premier League, Saturday, August 13th, 15:00 (UK)
Backing goals involving games that include Wolves are often a risk but their performances in the back end of last season and on the opening day suggest we could see a greater average of goals this campaign.
Fulham impressed in their opening day draw with Liverpool, Mitrovic bagged twice and will be a huge player for his side if they were to avoid the drop. Wolves lost away to Leeds after taking an early lead which isn’t like them as they have been so compact since arriving from the Championship.
With both sides scoring and conceding in the opening weekend the price for a repeat seems a little large at 1.85. If Marco Silva’s men can perform as they did at Craven Cottage last Saturday they should score fairly comfortably, but defensively they’re a little shaky.
Denmark, Superliga, Sunday, August 14th, 13:00 (UK)
These two sides in Denmark have been right amongst the goals in the opening few game weeks, in the first four games, they’ve each seen 14 goals scored in those matches. Viborg have scored and conceded seven times whilst Silkeborg have bagged 10 and conceded four times.
Both teams to score and three or more goals to be scored inside the 90 minutes is nicely priced at a shade under evens. The visitors have scored multiple times in all four matches and should be looking for a repeat as they look to stay at the higher end of the table.
Both sides are more than capable of scoring on Sunday afternoon at the Energi Viborg Arena. Viborg have seen nine goals in just two home matches this season and with an in-form Silkeborg side in town plenty of goals should be scored.
Belgium, First Division, Saturday, August 13th, 15:00 (UK)
Eupen is the destination for my final selection as Antwerp travel to the Kehrwegstadion in Belgium. Eupen have won once and lost twice in their opening three matches whilst Antwerp are three wins from three.
The hosts have seen 13 goals scored so far with both sides scoring in each game, three or more goals have been scored also every match. Antwerp most recently won 4-2, they are in the middle of a Europa Conference League clash which could take a lot out of them heading into Sunday’s clash.
With a perfect record for Eupen so far with overs and both sides contributing the price on offer for a repeat is currently 1.95. Antwerp are the favourites to win here but with playing on Thursday night they may not be fully prepared for this league match and could allow Eupen to take advantage.

A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
