Tough day for Alycia Parks, as she struggled to find the range with that big forehand and went down without much of a fight on Tuesday.
For Wednesday’s selection on the women’s side, we’ll head to the ITF level, where a higher-level event in Poitiers features a match between Jodie Burrage and Elsa Jacquemot.

It’s a matchup that should really favour the Brit here, considering the two game styles here and the fact that this is being played on an indoor hard court.
While Jacquemot has won a few matches of late indoors, her more defensive and underpowered game style isn’t exactly suited to long-term success in these conditions, which rewards bigger serving and hitting.
Burrage, on the other hand, is at her best when playing in quick conditions. She’s reached a slew of quarterfinals and semifinals this year at the ITF level on indoor hard courts, as well as deep runs at higher-level ITF events on grass and outdoor hard courts. It makes sense, considering she possesses a very strong first serve that becomes that much tougher to return when playing on quicker courts, and can also rip her forehand for winners and to seize control of points.
Her movement has improved a decent amount in 2022 as well, allowing her to win more of the longer rallies that she used to struggle with.
Considering the records of these two on faster surfaces, the pedigree of players that they’ve beaten, as well as Burrage’s game style being far more effective than the Frenchwoman’s, I’m more than happy to back the Brit at the given price.
I have her far closer to the 1.44-1.50 price range, winning from 65%-70% of the time. 1.72 is more than enough of an edge to get involved.
