Yet another loss from a leading position, as Lucia Bronzetti won the first set and had the early break lead in the deciding third set, but managed to lose the final five games to sink the bet.
Painful Tuesday all around, but we move on to Wednesday and look to get back to winning ways as we preview the contest featuring Kaja Juvan and Astra Sharma from the tournament in Budapest.

Early match in Hungary pits the 22-year-old from Slovenia against the former NCAA tennis player Sharma on the red dirt.
After a few years of mediocre play on clay courts, the Aussie appears to be making a more concerted effort to improve her game on the surface. It’s been going well of late as well, with plenty of success down at the ITF level prior to this run of three wins in the Hungarian capital, where she’s come through qualifying and the opening round of the main draw without dropping a set.
Her game, however, isn’t really that of a clay courter. It’s predicated primarily on a big first serve, which can be chewed up a bit by the dirt and then a decent forehand and steady dose of backhand slices – another shot that isn’t at its best on the higher-bouncing clay surface.
While I have to give credit where it’s due for the success of late, I don’t see many quality wins along the way and Juvan should present a much sterner test.
The Slovenian has a very well-rounded game, and she should find a lot of success in any kind of prolonged exchanges from the baseline. She’s much more athletic, has a much better backhand, can generate pace on her forehand when the ball is left short and she’s given time to attack it and her movement is superior to Sharma’s, which is key on a surface that rewards point construction and often sees players trying to move their opposition around the court.
I have Juvan as a 4-game favourite in this matchup, which is a far cry from the 2.5 games we’re seeing on offer at Pinnacle at the time of writing.
That also means that Juvan to win is nearing the 1.70 mark, which is well off of my number and another market worth pouncing on here.
She’s the more natural clay courter, the much more talented all around player and the more athletic of the two.
The form is starting to turn around too, after a tough start to the season that was impacted by some off-court personal issues she was dealing with.
I’m happy to back her here against Sharma, despite the recent success of the Australian.
