Where do I start with this recap? My word, it feels like the blown leads just never stop for these writeups. Bianca Andreescu came out of the gate on fire, winning the first four games of the match and dominating the opening set. She had barely faced break points, until being broken in the second set, and from there both her service games and return games took a major dip.
In the end, she blows the 6-2 lead and the 4-1 lead in the deciding set and the maximum stakes wager ends up voiding and landing right on the three-game handicap.
For Tuesday, we’re off to Roehampton where the women will play their opening round of qualifying for Wimbledon. It’s the match between Maja Chwalinska and Carole Monnet that is showing some value on Tuesday.

After having qualified here a year ago, Chwalinska looks to repeat that feat and match her run to the second round of the main draw. She plays a very odd style that you don’t see very often, and there’s a reason it has helped her find surprising success on grass.
While she doesn’t possess a lot of firepower, her hands and crafty play are exceptional. With the ability to work the ball around the court, hit some sublime drop shots and slice the ball with the best of them, the young Pole is able to use the natural low bounce of grass courts to her advantage.
She also has a decent draw, with Monnet being a player that doesn’t have a ton of experience on grass, lacks any kind of signature win and doesn’t have much to her game that stands out as particularly effective on grass courts.
Her five wins this year were against relative no names and a 6-0, 6-1 loss to Emiliana Arango is a pretty damning defeat.
The young Frenchwoman may have a bright future ahead, but at the moment, I’m not sold on her as a contender in this section for a main draw spot.
I’m once again perplexed by a handicap of just three games for our women’s bet.
Chwalinska is comfortable on these courts, qualified at this venue last year, and has a game that is incredibly effective on the grass.
Contrast that with Monnet whose game really doesn’t stand out and who is a fairly average ITF Tour level player, and I’m happy to give up a relatively short head start to back the player that should win with ease more often than not.
Odds as at 3:00 am UK Time on June 26th, 2023. Odds may now differ.
