Nice start to the week on our women’s bets, as Jule Niemeier beats Ana Bogdan in straight sets to cash the higher-staked underdog wager.
For Tuesday, we’ll stick with the event in Romania, as there is plenty of value on offer – particularly among the underdogs – on Tuesday. For our written preview, it’s the match featuring Viktorija Golubic and the young Diane Parry that we’ll focus on.

An intriguing first rounder on display here as it is the rare match that will showcase two women that both play with a one-handed backhand.
With both women playing a well-rounded style, mixed with rally tolerance and well-timed aggression, this should certainly be on any tennis fan’s watchlist for Tuesday’s action.
For my money, however, I have Parry as the good bet, with the markets implying she only has about a 40% chance to emerge victorious. I have this one much closer to a 50/50 proposition, and could make a case that the current iterations of each player and their play in 2022 would actually favour the Frenchwoman.
Neither is going to overpower the other in this one, but I do think Parry has a bit more to her service game and she can inject more pace into the forehand wing when looking to hit through open space.
Golubic is probably a tad steadier on the backhand, and where she lacks pure power, she is savvy and takes the ball relatively early to try and rob her opposition of time.
The big thing for me in this one, though, is the frequency at which we’ve seen Golubic hit unforced errors this season. Once a super consistent counterpuncher that could catch opponents by surprise, she’s now a player with decent aggression to her game, but far too many unforced errors to sustain the longer rallies she needs to win.
With nice wins against players like Tatjana Maria, Tereza Martincova, Donna Vekic and Anastasia Potapova in recent times on hard courts, I think we’re seeing a clear undervaluation of the 20-year-old, who has made leaps and bounds on the surface in the past few months.

With the matchup looking decent, as well as the fact that Parry has shown that the markets have mispriced her on several occasions already in her last few events, I’m happy to stake a position backing her against Golubic.
