It’s another busy weekend of football with plenty of games taking place across Europe, here at bettingexpert Expert Insights, we have selected six of our favourite bets which all feature the Asian Lines markets.
In this article:
England, League One, Saturday, January 21st, 15:00 (UK)
Since October 22nd, Exeter have lost just three league games from 12, those defeats came against sides all sitting within the top 5 of the table so there’s not a huge amount of discomfort as I’m looking to get them onside for their trip to Fratton Park.
From that exact date all those weeks ago, that was the last time Pompey won a League One fixture, albeit the team who currently sit bottom in the division. Within those last 10 matches, they sit bottom on the form table accumulating just six points in that time and their last home league victory came all the way back on September 3rd.
I’m staying away from the hosts given their current form. The fans have had enough and the club is having a few problems of their own away from the pitch.
Exeter sit in 12th in terms of results on the road. They have avoided defeat in eight of their 13 trips and the price for them to avoid defeat here looks more than reasonable. No side has left Hampshire empty-handed in eight consecutive matches, Exeter can definitely continue that streak on Saturday afternoon.

Portugal, Primeira Liga, Saturday, January 21st, 15:30 (UK)
Rock bottom Pacos welcome an in-form Braga side to Estadio da Capital do Movel on Saturday afternoon. I’m expecting the visitors to leave with all three points in a comfortable fashion.
The hosts are the lowest scorers in the Portuguese top flight, they’ve bagged just nine times in 16 matches with four coming in eight home clashes. Even with their underwhelming home results, they haven’t welcomed any of the so-called ‘big four’ which will provide a huge amount of worry.
Braga lead the way in terms of away points. They’ve accumulated 21 from a possible 24 with their only defeat coming against Porto back in September. When playing teams in the bottom half of the table, Braga have dispatched each and every side they have faced. Pacos are the only team they have yet to play, so a win here should definitely be on the cards.
The hosts have played Benfica, Porto and Sporting on their travels this season, losing on each occasion, 3-2, 4-0 and most recently 3-0. The gulf in class is strong between these two sides and Braga can’t afford any slip ups if they’re wanting to push for the title.
Braga did beat Pacos in the cup last month despite a heavily rotated team on the night, they’ll be expected to win again on Saturday against a lacklustre side who just can’t earn points even against the weaker sides in the division.

England, National League, Saturday, January 21st, 17:20 (UK)
The National League is often great for goals if you get onside with the right teams. There aren’t many better combinations than these two sides who meet at the Technique Stadium on Saturday evening on live TV.
Notts County, who are league leaders sit 13 points above Chesterfield in the table, they do have four games in hand so winning here is a must if they want to have any chance of an automatic promotion place. Picking a winner here is much too difficult so backing goals seems the best bet.
No side has scored more than Luke Williams’ Notts County side this season, they’ve notched a whopping 69 in just 27 matches with an impressive 42 arriving in just 14 away trips. Chesterfield are the third highest in the goal charts despite playing less than everyone else. They’ve bagged 49 in 27 with 28 arriving in their 12 home clashes.
With 61 goals scored in the visitors’ away matches, 12 of their 14 trips have seen three or more goals scored on the day, Macaulay Langstaff will be keen to extend his impressive tally in this fixture, the 25-year-old has already netted 22 times for his club this campaign.
41 goals have come in Chesterfield’s 12 home games, eight of their last 10 have seen three or more within 90 minutes. The reverse fixture ended 2-2 back in August and I can certainly see another high-scoring affair when these two go head-to-head on Saturday evening.

Spain, Segunda Division, Saturday, January 21st, 15:00 (UK)
7th-placed Granada welcome the bottom side on Saturday evening as they’ll look to put their home performances to their advantage against an Ibiza side who don’t travel well in the slightest.
Despite sitting just outside the playoffs, Granada have been a force at home this season. They have accumulated 29 points from 11 games at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes, scoring 22 and allowing just two at the other end.
With the former La Liga side playing in front of the home support, they’re unsurprisingly a fairly short price to win. Five of their nine victories here have ended in more than a single goal margin. With the worst away side in the division making the 600km journey, Granada will be confident in making this a trip to forget for the islanders.
The Asian Line is set at -1 and I’m happy to back the hosts. They have only failed to win two matches here this season against sides who sit third and twelfth in the table.
Ibiza have lost six consecutive games on the road with half of those coming by more than a single-goal margin. If Granada win by exactly one, we receive a refund but if they make light work of this clash and win by multiple goals, we’ll receive a full payout. The reverse fixture ended 0-2 on the opening day, so a repeat of that will be great.
Netherlands, Eredivisie, Saturday, January 21st, 19:00 (UK)
It’s fair to say that Cambuur have struggled this season after their impressive 9th-place finish last campaign. The hosts have lost seven matches from eight here this season and have struggled to find the back of the net more often than not.
Sparta sit in 6th, only three sides have conceded less goals than Maurice Steijn’s side as they look to improve on their 14th-place finish last season. Results have been pretty steady. They’ve lost four times in 16 matches but they came against the leading trio and an Utrecht side who’ve been on a decent run of form.
The visitors are favourites here, but not by much. The Asian Line is set at -0.25 at an odds-against price coming in at 2.06 which looks a nice way in given the home side have only won just twice in 16 attempts.
With this selection, we need the hosts to win for a full payout, If the game ends in a draw we’ll receive half of our stake back and if Cambuur win, the bet loses. Given these clubs opening half of the season, the handicap provides some decent value, Cambuur haven’t won since October 1st whilst the away side have played all six teams who sit above Cambuur and have won each and every one.

England, Championship, Sunday, January 22nd, 12:00 (UK)
The midday kickoff on Sunday afternoon sets out to be a great watch. Both sides have been right amongst the goals at both ends of the field in recent weeks so backing goals looks the best bet here.
Michael Carrick has made an impressive start as the Middlesbrough boss. Boro have won eight from 11 scoring in every match and have kept just two shoutouts with the overs landing in nine of those matches.
Like Boro, the Black Cats have been involved in some entertaining affairs, five of their seven Championship matches since the return have seen three or more goals scored on the day with the other two finishing a goal a piece. Ross Stewart’s return has been massively important, the Scotsman has scored nine in 12 this campaign with four of those arriving in his recent five.
With the over 2.5 goal line priced at even money, it appears to be a strong price. 10 of 13 combined games have seen the overs cash since the restart with each side scoring in each match.
These sides rank 1st and 3rd in the over 2.5 table across the entire Championship which provides plenty of confidence when getting with the goals. Both clubs should be expected to contribute at the Stadium of Light in what could be an enjoyable watch between the third and fifth-highest-scoring teams.
