As we enter the second round of group games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, we have Belgium v Morocco Bet Builder tips here at Bettingexpert.
For their second successive game at this year’s finals, the Atlas Lions of Morocco will be up against European opposition at the Al Thumana Stadium in Doha.
In this article:
World Cup Group F, Sunday, November 27th, 13:00 (UK)
Belgium were tested by the young Canadian side in their opening game. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois saved a penalty before the Red Devils found the winning goal. In short, they were second-best for a good part of the game.
On the other hand, Morocco held off the Russia 2018 finalists, Croatia in a tight contest. The North Afrcians enjoyed huge support in Qatar.
Meanwhile, this particular clash means a lot for both countries, as Belgium could make the second round of the competition with a win, while Morocco could take a giant step towards qualification with a win as well.
Roberto Martinez’s side were underwhelming in their first game and the coach will be wary of the threat the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Achraf Hakimi and co possess in the Moroccan squad.
Morocco come into this clash in decent form – eight games unbeaten – and will need to do a bit extra if they are to record their first win at the Mundial since 1998.
For Belgium, they struggled to play their game in the first match and their stars like Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard were not at their best. One would expect a better turnaround from the Red Devils on Sunday.
This World Cup has seen four goalless draws already and it appears more could come in subsequent games. However, it’s been a tournament with a high volume of goals generally.
Roberto Martinez fielded the oldest starting XI (average age: 30 years and 181 days) since June 1998. He nearly regretted it as Canada ran them over.
Going by that performance, the former Wigan coach will most likely tweak his lineup or his side’s formation against a much better opposition in Morocco.
With odds at 2.00 for a win, Belgium will find it difficult against Walid Regragui’s side. Backing a win or draw for the Red Devils would be a better pick. And the low amount of goals in games where teams are on par makes the under option a smart pick.
