This week’s Bundesliga props acca tips sees our expert Scott Thornton focus on some of the strugglers in the German top flight.

Two of our matches take place on Saturday and hopefully, there are plenty of shots in one of Europe’s most attack-minded leagues. Our final pick (Koln vs Borussia Monchengladbach) takes place at the same time on Sunday.

Away from Germany, make sure you read Scott’s take on the Premier League’s best prop punts for the weekend ahead here on bettingexpert.

Union Berlin vs Stuttgart: Lights, Camera, Stuttgart

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, October 21st, 14:30 (UK)

Union Berlin secured Champions League qualification in the last campaign, but they have made a slow start to this season. They’ve been on a torrid run, losing their last seven competitive matches, three of which were on home turf.

Stuttgart have made the remarkable leap from being a relegation side to competing near the top of the Bundesliga. They come into this weekend above Bayern Munich and just one point off the league leaders, Bayer Leverkusen. Stuttgart’s only defeat in the league came against Leipzig. Their matches have seen a lot of goals, with an average of 4.29 per game.

Union Berlin aren’t conceding a lot of shots this season and that is why the Stuttgart shot line is a little lower than expected. The visitors weren’t nearly as good last season, and they still managed 17 attempts in this fixture.

The visitors are averaging 15.43 shots per game so far this season. Only three sides in the Bundesliga have managed more. They’ve had 18 and 15 shots in their two away games since the defeat at Leipzig.

  • Selection: Over 12.5 Shots For Stuttgart
  • Best Odds: 1.90
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Freiburg vs Bochum: The Visitors Defensive Record Puts Them Near the Bochum

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, October 21st, 14:30 (UK)

Freiburg set a high standard last season, but they have struggled for consistency after making a winning start to the campaign. Unsurprisingly, they were beaten by Bayern Munich before the international break, but they have managed to win just one of their last five league matches. This has left them 9th in the table.

Bochum is set for a relegation scrap, having secured four points from four draws after eight league matches. They’ve kept one clean sheet across those matches and have been thumped 5-0 by Stuttgart and 7-0 by Bayern.

Freiburg’s matches have seen 28 shots per game on average. However, it’s their recent head-to-heads with Bochum that really catch the eye. There were 44 shots in this fixture last season. Freiburg’s trip to Bochum saw 35 attempts.

Thomas Letsch’s sides’ matches have seen the 2nd most shots in the Bundesliga, with an average of 32.57. This is well above the required mark for this bet to land. This bet has landed in two of their four away matches, but there were 32 shots in their only game on the road that was against a side outside of the top six.

  • Selection: Over 27.5 Shots In The Match
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Koln vs Borussia Monchengladbach: Monchengladbach’s Trips to the Shooting Range

Germany, Bundesliga, Sunday, October 22nd, 14:30 (UK)

Koln have just one point and are rock bottom of the Bundesliga. They are still searching for their first win and they have lost all three of their league matches at home. The pressure is building on Steffen Baumgart. His side can’t afford to give up too much ground on the teams above them.

Borussia Monchengladbach have been enduring a poor start of their own. It’s been a forgettable few seasons for the team since Marco Rose departed the club. They have been languishing in midtable but the loss of Marcus Thuram appears to have set them back even further.

The home sides’ matches have seen 27.14 shots per game, which is around the average in the Bundesliga at this stage. Their last two home matches have seen 32 and 31 shots.

Monchengladbach’s matches are averaging 34.71 shots per game this season. This is the most in the Bundesliga. They’ve been getting plenty of shots away themselves but their defensive frailties mean they have allowed more attempts than any other side with an average of 18.57 per game.

  • Selection: Over 26.5 Shots In The Match
  • Best Odds: 1.90
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10
