Bochum vs Augsburg: Bochum’s Home Record is Crucial

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 3rd February, 14:30 (UK)

Bochum narrowly avoided relegation last season, so they will be more than pleased with their eight-point cushion at this stage. They have lost just one of their nine home matches in the Bundesliga this season, winning three and drawing five. They beat Stuttgart in their last home match.

Augsburg have picked up four points in their last six matches. They showed spirit against Bayern Munich in their last match. However, defeat here would see them move below Bochum in the table.

Thomas Letsch’s side shows plenty of attacking intent in front of their own fans. They have scored in all of their home matches this season. As you’d expect, their shot numbers are good at home. They are averaging 18.33 shots across all of their home matches in the league. This increased to 19.75 against sides who are currently in the bottom half.

Augsburg are conceding 15.56 shots per away game this season. They have played one match on the road since the winter break; their opponents had 18 shots.

  • Selection: Over 16.5 Shots For Bochum (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 2.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Koln vs Frankfurt: Key Clash in Koln

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 3rd February, 17:30 (UK)

Koln are staring down the barrel of relegation if things don’t improve. They are currently in the relegation playoff spot and are five points from safety. Timo Schultz’s side managed to earn a point at Wolfsburg last weekend, but they are six matches without a win in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht Frankfurt are showing signs that they may be rediscovering their early season form. They beat RB Leipzig in their first game after the break. They haven’t been free-scoring this season but have done just enough. They are just five points away from the Champions League places.

Koln were beaten 4-0 by Dortmund in their last home match but still managed to have 19 attempts. They must throw caution to the wind here; hopefully, this leads to plenty of shots. They are averaging 15.33 at home in the league this season.

Bet365 have set a low line for this one. Frankfurt conceded just eight shots in this fixture last season, but there is potential for plenty more. Dino Toppmoller’s men are conceding an average of 15.5 shots per away game this season.

  • Selection: Over 12.5 Shots For Koln (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

RB Leipzig vs Union Berlin: Response Needed From Leipzig

Germany, Bundesliga, Sunday, 4th February, 16:30 (UK)

RB Leipzig are without a win in their last four league matches. The slump has seen them drop out of the top four, so there is pressure on them to get a result here. Marco Rose’s side were hammered 5-2 by Stuttgart last weekend. More dropped points could open up daylight between themselves and the Champions League places.

Union Berlin have an incentive of their own. They are one place above the relegation playoff. Their form is a massive worry ahead of this crucial period. They are without a win in their last 12 matches in all competitions. Over that period, they are scoring just 0.42 goals per game.

Marco Rose’s side will have the lion’s share of possession here. They should rack up the shots as they attempt to restore confidence in their ranks. Leipzig are averaging 17.9 shots per home league game this season.

The visitors will be under the cosh here. Their opponents have had at least 17 shots in six of their last seven away matches across all competitions.

  • Selection: Over 16.5 Shots For RB Leipzig (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 2.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10
