Hoffenheim’s early season form is long gone. They are now on a run of seven competitive matches without a win, which has seen them slip down the pecking order in the Bundesliga. They are now five points off the European places and need to return to winning ways here.
Union Berlin’s win over Wolfsburg last weekend give them some breathing space. Nenad Bjelica was brought in and tasked with keeping the side in the Bundesliga. They now sit five points above the relegation place. It’s a far cry from last season when the team finished in the top four.
Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side’s matches have seen an average of 29.62 shots in this campaign. That’s the 3rd most in the Bundesliga. This drops slightly to 28.4 in their home matches but it is still comfortably above what is required here.
Union’s away matches have seen an average of 26.55 shots per game. The numbers in their recent clashes with Hoffenheim are more promising. There were 32 attempts when these sides went toe-to-toe in the reverse fixture. There were 28 they played at the PreZero Arena.

RB Leipzig are on the back foot in the race to qualify for the Champions League. They have fallen behind Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart. Marco Rose’s side were held to a 2-2 draw by Augsburg last weekend so three points are crucial here. They have won their last three home matches against Monchengladbach and are unbeaten in the last seven.
Borussia Monchengladbach have only managed to secure one win in their last eight matches. The poor form has sent them hurtling down the table. They now sit in 13th place and the gap between themselves and the relegation playoff is just seven points.
Marco Rose’s side are likely to be on top here but the shot line on bet365 is set a little too high. RB Leipzig are averaging 17.73 shots per home game in the Bundesliga this season. Their last home match was against Union Berlin, a side that are below Monchengladbach in the table, and Leipzg has just 16 shots.
The visitors are affording their opponents plenty of opportunities when playing on the road this season. However, their average of 19.9 shots conceded would mean this bet wins. RB Leipzig has just eight shots in the reverse fixture and 14 the last time Monchengladbach visited this ground.

Bochum have drawn their last two Bundesliga matches to keep their points tally ticking over. They are now six points above the relegation zone. They have suffered heavy defeats in their recent matches against Bayern but they are facing a wounded animal on Sunday.
It’s been a tumultuous week at Bayern Munich, to say the least. The sharks are circling Thomas Tuchel after the team suffered a 3-0 defeat away at Leverkusen before losing the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash with Lazio. The former Chelsea boss is seemingly on borrowed time so he needs a big performance here.
Bochum were beaten 7-0 by Bayern earlier in the season. They also lost their last home match against the Bavarian giants by that scoreline. They will have to defend resolutely to stop Bayern from running riot here. Thomas Letsch’s side are conceding almost two more shots per game than the league average this season.
Bayern need a resounding victory to get their season back on track. Their squad is littered with talent and they are capable of putting Bochum to the sword. They had 26 shots against Bochum earlier in the season. In fact, this bet has won in the last five head-to-heads between these sides with the Bavarians averaging 23.2 shots.
