Union Berlin vs Heidenheim: Union Have Momentum
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 24th February, 14:30 (UK)
Union Berlin has picked up consecutive 1-0 wins, which have moved them eight points clear of the bottom three. It’s been a poor season for the side that earned Champions League qualification last season, but they have turned a corner in recent matches.
Heidenheim are three points above Union Berlin. They are delighted with how they have performed since being promoted from the second tier. Frank Schmidt’s side had gone eight league matches without a loss before their narrow defeat against Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.
Union’s home matches in the league have seen an average of 24.7 shots this season. That’s still above the line set by bet365, but we should see even more here. There were 30 shots when the sides met earlier in the season.
The away matches in the Bundesliga for Schmidt’s side have seen an average of 27.09 shots. This drops to 26.83 across their six league matches played in 2024. They have shown plenty of attacking intent, but have also faced an average of 17.91 shots in matches on the road. There were 26 attempts when they last visited this ground.
- Selection: Over 24.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.90
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 9/10
Borussia Monchengladbach vs Bochum: A Shooting Gallery Once Again
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 24th February, 14:30 (UK)
Borussia Monchengladbach are in freefall. One victory in their last 10 matches has seen them drop to 15th in the Bundesliga, just six points above the relegation playoff spot. Gerardo Seoane’s side had opportunities to score away at RB Leipzig in their last match. However, goals have been a real problem since the shocking win over Stuttgart in January.
Bochum got the better of Bayern Munich in a five-goal thriller in their last match, so they carry plenty of confidence into this clash. They are four places above their opponents in the table. Yet, the gap of just three points with their inferior goal difference means Monchengladbach can leapfrog them here.
Seoane’s side’s home matches in the league have seen an average of 28.91 shots this season. Their 22 Bundesliga matches have seen more attempts than any other side with an average of 30.23.
Bochum’s matches have seen an average of 29.91 shots, the 2nd most in the German top flight. There was a whopping total of 51 shots when these sides met earlier in the season and 39 the last time they went toe-to-toe at this ground.
- Selection: Over 26.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.72
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 9/10
Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig: Tactical Battle at the Allianz
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 24th February, 17:30 (UK)
Bayern Munich are now eight points off top, so their dominance looks set to end. They have lost their last three matches across all competitions. The slump has led the club to announce that Thomas Tuchel will leave the club at the end of the season, but he will need to turn things around quickly to see out that period.
RB Leipzig are battling to qualify for the Champions League. They are just one point behind Borussia Dortmund, who currently sit in 4th place. Marco Rose’s side have never lost to Tuchel’s Bayern side, but could only manage a draw in the reverse fixture.
Bayern’s home matches in the league have seen an average of 29.45 shots, with the Bavarians having 21.64 of those. They haven’t been at their best in recent weeks and Leipzig should provide a stern test, so don’t expect Munich to rack up those sorts of numbers here.
Leipzig’s away matches have seen an average of 26.1 shots. This bet has won in the last five head-to-heads between these sides, with those matches seeing an average of 21.4 shots.
- Selection: Under 29.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.83
- Bookmaker: bet35
- Stake: 9/10
