Spain, La Liga, Friday, February 9th, 20:00 (UK)
Cadiz and Betis tend to stalemate, especially when they play at home and away, respectively. The pair have drawn a combined 12 matches from 22, which makes the price on offer an appealing proposition.
The hosts lack firepower, they’ve scored just 15 times across the 23/24 campaign, a damning statistic. Mauricio Pellegrino’s men have scored a lowly nine goals at this venue and are currently on an 18-game winless run. Times are tough for Cadiz right now.
Betis are a tricky side to predict, but it’s clear that they’re a tough side to beat. Pellegrini’s men have lost just four times this term. Six of their previous eight outings have ended all square, four 1-1’s and two 0-0’s.
The draw certainly appeals. It’s a big price. I don’t see either side running away with the points here, given the lack of offensive quality amongst each camp. Three of the last five La Liga meetings between these clubs have ended level, including the 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture.

It’s hard to see this being anything other than a drab affair in this one. But if we were to be some magic, then there’s only one man for the job. Isco is superb. He oozes class and has been in some decent scoring form as of late.
With the goal line set at 2.25, the AGS prices are relatively high, which makes the Spaniard appealing. The former Real Madrid man will be on penalty duties for Betis, which is a bonus.
Cadiz have conceded in seven of their 11 matches here this term. They’ve also conceded from the penalty spot at this venue.
Isco has now found the back of the net in three of his last four matches. He scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Granada, scored a brace against Barcelona and most recently scored from the spot against Getafe. It’s a big price for a man that poses a threat.
Cadiz needs a positive result; they can’t afford to leave here empty-handed. At some point, I expect the home side to attack Betis, which will leave space, a perfect scenario for a player like Isco to cause damage.

Cadiz have been useless at home, especially after the break; whatever their manager has been telling them at the break certainly isn’t of any use. The hosts have scored after the break in any of their previous seven home matches. In fact, they’ve scored just two goals after halftime across their 11 clashes here.
Betis have scored multiple times just twice in their away trips all season, both of those came in their opening two matches away from home. It’s a lowly six goals in their previous nine outings. They aren’t exactly a formidable free-scoring side, and I don’t see them having heaps of joy on Friday night.
With the home side scoring just three times after the break all season, backing them to fire another blank definitely appeals. Boring Betis haven’t seen this part of the selection win at all in their 11 away days.
This selection won in the reverse fixture as well as this meeting last season. It’s never fun going against the goals, but in some instances, it’s the sensible angle.
Cadiz vs Real Betis Predictions odds via bet365 as at 17:00, February 4th, 2024. Odds may now differ.
Cadiz will take some positives from their point at Villarreal over the previous weekend. The same defensive unit is likely to start once again. They’ll be relying on Christopher Ramos for a goal. He’s scored five of their 15 this term.
Betis have a few players out for this encounter. Ayoze Perez and Ezequiel Avila won’t be back in time for this match. Guido Rodriguez is a doubt with an ankle injury, whilst Marc Roca has a virus; he should be back for the weekend.
Cadiz possible starting lineup:
Ledesma, Carcelen, Mere, Chust, Pires, Alejo, Escalante, Fernandez, Navarro, Sobrino, Ramos.
Real Betis possible starting lineup:
Silva, Bellerin, Pezzella, Sokratis, Abner, Johnny, Altimira, Rodri, Isco, Diao, Fekir.
