Canada and Morocco meet in Doha on Wednesday afternoon, here at bettingexpert News we have constructed a bet builder for this clash in Group F. It’s a crucial one with Morocco able to make the final 16 depending on how things go on the final matchday.
In this article:
World Cup Group F, Thursday, December 1st, 15:00 (UK)
The Canadians have already faced an early exit from the World Cup. They were beaten in their opening game against Belgium but really should’ve walked away with something. They then faced Croatia and despite scoring the opener were well beaten 4-1.
It’s been an impressive campaign for Morocco. They have accumulated four points against the bigger two names in the group and are yet to concede a goal. Avoiding defeat here will confirm a spot in the knockout stages. It would be just the second time in their history with the first being way back in 1986. Walid Regragui has a whole host of talent within his squad with the majority of players at top-level clubs in Europe. They’ve allowed their opposition plenty of the ball but more importantly, have outshot both Croatia and Belgium in Qatar.
Despite having nothing to play for in terms of qualification, Canada are still chasing their first ever World Cup victory. Manager John Herdman is urging his side to go out on a high and aim for three points at the Al Thumama Stadium.
Morocco will be content with a point here but it may require them to score, Canada will give as good as they can here with no pressure on them whatsoever. They have looked dangerous in the attacking areas although the final product has been lacking real quality at times.
With Morocco still needing a result to earn qualification, the bet builder selections are fully revolving them with an odds-against play that looks strong.
Achraf Hakimi is one of the best fullbacks in the world. He loves to fly forward at any given opportunity and isn’t afraid to have a shot. The PSG man had a shot in both of his appearances here for Morocco. Backing him to have at least a single shot is a great price and will be my first part of the bet builder double.
Secondly, Morocco should be fancying themselves to score against a Canadian side who have yet to keep a clean sheet in this tournament. Canada lost their opener against the run of play. Belgium accumulated 0.77xG on the night. Croatia created a hefty 2.62xG on Sunday against Herdman’s side who can definitely be got at defensively.
The bet builder looks a nice price, Morocco should provide plenty of threat as they look to confirm a spot in the last 16.
