I’ve got a Monday night bet builder of 19.00 odds as Manchester City travel to Selhurst Park for a crunch clash against Crystal Palace.
In this article:
Three crucial points and revenge will be on the agenda for Manchester City as they face a potentially difficult clash against Crystal Palace. The Eagles will be aiming to join some esteemed company as they plot an unlikely league double over the reigning champions. They claimed a 2-0 win against City at the Etihad in October although the stakes are much different now.
That feat alone should be celebrated, if achieved. Only four sides have ever managed to complete a league double over a side managed by Pep Guardiola; including Tottenham this season.
However, with Liverpool breathing down the necks of City and a mere three points separating both sides, it will take a tremendous effort for Palace to get anything out of this game.

Manchester City come into this game following an uncharacteristic goalless draw against Sporting in midweek. It was a Champions League formality though as they had already won 5-0 in the first leg.
That would mean the regular starters would be well-rested and we can expect a strong starting lineup. City have won four out of their last five games but this is a game that has the potential to cause an upset.
Though Palace have a poor home record of late, their overall form has been rather positive. They have only tasted defeat twice out of their last 11 games across all competitions. They can be forgiven as they lost to Chelsea and Liverpool.
In their last four games across all competitions, they have won three, scoring at least two goals alone themselves in that time. Taking all of that into account, there is a good chance we could witness a decent number of goals in this game.
Wilfried Zaha is in search of his tenth league goal, having scored five in his last eight. Elsewhere, Riyad Mahrez is in fine form as well, scoring eight goals in his last nine appearances across all competitions. He was benched at the weekend and is expected to be back in the starting lineup.
Crystal Palace will be eager to attack and hope to get one early and put them in a good position. However, that could work for them or could turn out to be their undoing. Regardless of how the game would go, I am backing City to come out on top after 90 minutes.
Conor Gallagher is nearing double digits for bookings this season alone and has two in his last two games. Playing against a team like City leaves most players with lots of tracking to do, making fouls more likely.
City have recorded 30 corners alone in their last three games and you can see why the corner tip could even be fulfilled by one team in this team. Kevin De Bruyne is full of confidence after his brace against local rivals Manchester United last time out and you can back him to hit the target at least once.

A bet builder is a kind of accumulator bet solely focussed on one match. A standard acca features multiple selections across different selections combined together into one bet. If one selection loses, the whole bet loses. A bet builder is similar but each selection is placed on the same match. Similar to the American prop bet, the bet builder goes into detail on a single match. Common selections include match outcome, total goals, cards, corners, and players to score.
