This week’s early bird tips for BTTS see us head to Germany for two bets in the Bundesliga. Shortly after, a selection from the Championship gets underway in the Saturday 15:00 slot.

As always, our expert Scott Thornton will be the man in the driving seat overseeing BTTS proceedings.

Germany has seen a glut of goals so far this season, and we are backing teams that rank highly in terms of goals conceded. We are also banking on some tired legs in the Championship, with fixture congestion playing its part.

Acca odds: 6.71

Augsburg vs Wolfsburg: The Wolves Hunting for a Pack of Goals

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, October 28th, 14:30 (UK)

Augsburg climbed to 10th in the Bundesliga with their emphatic 5-2 win over Heidenheim at the weekend. It was just their second league win of the season, so they will be looking to build some momentum when they host Wolfsburg this weekend.

Like Augsburg, Wolfsburg have struggled for consistency this season. They have won four and lost four and haven’t secured back-to-back wins since they beat Koln on match day two. Niko Kovac’s side put up a fight against Bayer Leverkusen in their last match but ultimately came up short against the league leaders.

Jess Thorup’s side have been very goal-friendly this season. Augsburg matches have seen the second-most goals in the Bundesliga, with an average of 4.25 per game.

This is well above the league average of 3.54 goals per match. Both teams have scored in all four of their home matches, with three goals or more landing in each of them.

This bet has landed in three of Wolfsburg’s four matches on the road; the exception was the 1-0 defeat away to Dortmund. The last meeting between these sides finished 2-2.

  • Selection: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 2.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 8/10

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Heidenheim: Make or Break for Monchengladbach

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, October 28th, 14:30 (UK)

We are staying in Germany for our second bet, and just one point separates these sides in the table coming into this one. Borussia Monchengladbach were poor last weekend as they handed Koln their first victory of the season in the Rhine Derby. They’ve picked up just one win in the Bundesliga so far. Defeat against newly-promoted Heidenheim would be a huge cause for concern.

Heidenheim is a point ahead of the hosts and will be reasonably happy with how they have started. Their attacking approach has earned them two wins already, but Frank Schmidt will have some concerns about the defence.

Monchengladbach were beaten 3-1 last weekend, and their matches are averaging 4.12 goals per game. This bet has won in six of their eight Bundesliga matches. On the two occasions it lost, Monchengladbach failed to score against sides with their sights set on the title.

The visitors’ matches have also seen plenty of goal-mouth action this season. They are conceding 2.5 goals per league match but have managed to average 1.5 themselves. Schmidt’s side will fancy their chances of finding the net against one of the division’s shakiest defences.

  • Selection: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals ( (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 9/10

Sunderland vs Norwich: Black Cats Can Get After The Canaries

England, Championship, Saturday October 28th, 15:00 (UK)

Sunderland started the week in 6th, clinging onto that playoff spot by the skin of their teeth after two league defeats in a row. They were beaten by Norwich at the Stadium of Light last season, and they face a tricky midweek trip to Leicester prior to this one.

Norwich have been on a poor run of late, with their confidence likely dented following the capitulation against Leeds. The Canaries led 2-0 but wound up on the losing side as the visitors fought back to win. They were 10th in the Championship heading into the midweek fixture list.

Sunderland are the 4th highest-scoring team in the league, with an average of 1.75 goals per match. They have wilted defensively in their recent games and are taking on a side with plenty of goalscoring prowess.

Norwich are scoring 1.92 goals per Championship game, slightly more than the home side. Their away matches have seen an average of 4.67 goals per game, with both teams scoring in five of the six.

  • Selection: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.95
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 7/10
