England start their Euro 2021 campaign with a Group D match against Croatia. It’s a repeat of the 2018 World Cup semi-final but Gareth Southgate and co will hope for a different outcome. England lost 2-1 after extra time as Croatia made it to the final for the first time in their history.

A lot has changed since then for both these sides. England, in particular, have had some serious player turnover. Over half of the 2018 World Cup squad hasn’t made the cut for this tournament. That includes several of the players who started that semi-final.

It was a necessary change for manager Gareth Southgate. Many players have emerged in the last few years. Some of these are now undroppable for England.

We should see goals. Neither side is airtight at the back and both have quality moving forward. That means chances and Harry Kane rarely needs a second invitation.
