Everton vs West Ham Tip 1: Lack Of Goods at Goodison
England, Premier League, Saturday, March, 2nd 15:00 (UK)
Everton are in the midst of a relegation battle due to their ten-point deduction at the start of the season. Sean Dyche’s side currently sits 17th, just one point clear of Luton, who have a game in hand.
A 94th-minute Lewis Dunk header prevented Everton from winning their first league game in 2024 – a run stretching back nine games since they beat Burnley 2-0 in early December. Since then, goals have been at a premium, with the Toffees only scoring six goals in this time, drawing a blank in four.
Everton’s dreary run has been epitomised by the fact that five of their last six league games have seen under 2.5 goals. Striker Dominic Calvert Lewin has struggled for goals, scoring just three league goals this season and failing to score in his last 20. Incidentally, his last goal was the only goal in the reverse fixture.
West Ham are arguably in more dire form than Everton, losing three in a row and failing to win in 2024 yet. A 2-0 loss to Nottingham Forest made it three consecutive matches that the Hammers have failed to hit the back of the net, extending their run to eight games without a win.
Of their last ten games in all competitions, only three have seen three or more goals – with two of these batterings at the hands of Manchester United and Arsenal (3-0 and 6-0).
It’s expected to be a cagey game between two teams devoid of confidence, managed by two of the most pragmatic managers in the league.
- Everton vs West Ham Tip 1: Under 2.5 Goals
- Best Odds: 2.05
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
Everton vs West Ham Tip 2: Tricky Kudus
Mohammed Kudus has been a bright spark for West Ham after his summer move from Ajax. The Ghanaian has scored ten goals already in all competitions for the Hammers and was a huge miss when absent due to AFCON.
The 23-year-old is a direct threat on the right and is a tricky customer for left-backs to deal with. He has completed 4.16 dribbles per 90, boasting a success rate of 63.5%. His pace, trickery and directness often lead to him winning fouls, being fouled 2.86 times per 90.
His direct opponent on Saturday is Ukrainian Vitalii Mykolenko. Although the 24-year-old has received just one caution thus far, he is averaging 1.62 tackles per 90, showing he is not afraid to get stuck in.
In addition, he has made 0.9 fouls p90. However, this angle is more reliant on the fact that Kudus draws plenty of fouls, with five left-backs picking up a yellow card against West Ham since his arrival.
- Everton vs West Ham Tip 2: Vitalli Mykolenko to be Booked
- Best Odds: Awaiting Odds
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 3/10
Everton vs West Ham Tip 3: Combative Kudus
I’ve mentioned Kudus’ ability to draw fouls, but the Ghanaian often finds himself in the referee’s notebook.
The 23-year-old is averaging 1.8 fouls per 90 in the Premier League, with his exuberance more often than not seeing him fly into challenges late. He has also shown his combative side, winning 2.11 tackles per 90 and winning 10.7 duels per 90.
In his 14 Premier League starts, he’s been booked five times, being shown a yellow card in the reverse fixture for his reaction to a heavy James Tarkowski challenge.
In what is set to be a feisty match with a hostile atmosphere, don’t be surprised to see Kudus fly into challenges.
- Everton vs West Ham Tip 3: Mohamed Kudus to be Booked
- Best Odds: Awaiting Odds
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 3/10

Everton vs West Ham Team News and Possible Lineups: Paqueta to Bolster Irons attack
Everton are still without Andre Gomes, Dele Alli and Arnaut Danjuma due to injury, with Sean Dyche expected to start with the same lineup that battled to a point against Brighton. However, Idrissa Gana Gueye limped off with an injury in the 49th minute, so it will be touch and go.
West Ham have been blighted by the injury to Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta. They have only scored three goals in the six games he has been missing, with the Brazilian contributing to seven goals and assists in 18 Premier League starts.
Everton possible starting lineup:
Pickford; Godfrey, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Doucoure, Garner; Mcneil, Calvert-Lewin, Harrison
West Ham possible starting lineup:
Areola; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson; Alvarez, Soucek, Ward-Prowse; Kudus, Bowen, Paqueta
