They were eliminated from this season’s Europa Conference League by Union Saint-Gilloise. Union Berlin earned a place in the Champions League by finishing in the top four in the last campaign but things haven’t gone according to plan this term.

Frankfurt vs Union Berlin Prediction 1: Home Side Have Union’s Number
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, March 30th, 14:30 (UK)
Eintracht Frankfurt were beaten 3-1 by Borussia Dortmund before the international break. The defeat saw them fall further behind the top five sides in the Bundesliga but they are still well positioned to qualify for Europe. We are backing the home side to win here and bounce back from their recent defeat.
Dino Toppmoller’s side beat Union Berlin 3-0 on the road earlier in the season. They were incisive in front of goal on that occasion. The team managed to find the net on three occasions despite managing just four shots in the entire match. Frankfurt ended the match with an xG of 1.59, 0.9 more than their opponents. The home side haven’t tasted defeat in their last six Bundesliga matches at Deutsche Bank Park.
Union Berlin have struggled away from home this season. They have recorded just two wins in their 13 league matches outside of Berlin, averaging 1.08 fewer goals per game than their opponents in those games and have slumped to nine defeats. Union have been beaten on their last four visits to this ground.

Frankfurt vs Union Berlin Prediction 2: Dodgy Defences Ensure Entertainment
The next of our tips for this Bundesliga match is for both teams to score in the match. Eintracht Frankfurt are averaging 1.62 goals per game in the league this season, marginally over the average of 1.61 goals per team in a German top-flight match.
Toppmoller’s men have shown real cutting edge when playing on home turf. They have found the net in 11 of their 12 league matches in front of their own fans this season. The highlight is undoubtedly the 5-1 win over Bayern Munich in December. Frankfurt are averaging 1.83 goals per home game this season but clean sheets have been hard to come by of late. Both teams have scored in their last six Bundesliga matches. This bet has also won in nine of their last ten home games across all competitions, with those encounters seeing an average of 3.5 goals.
Union Berlin recorded a much-needed win over Werder Bremen in their last game. The three points saw them open up a nine-point gap between themselves and the relegation playoff place. The team have performed poorly in recent matches against Frankfurt, but they can have success against this shaky defence.
- Frankfurt vs Union Berlin Prediction 2: Both Teams To Score
- Best Odds: 1.95
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
Frankfurt vs Union Berlin Prediction 3: Marmoush Making an Impact
Omar Marmoush has been the standout player in attack for Eintracht Frankfurt this season. We can back the Egyptian to score anytime at odds of 3.10 with bet365. He netted twice in the win over Union Berlin earlier in the season and is set to be the focal point in attack once again. He has taken over Randal Kolo Munai’s place in the starting eleven after the Frenchman made the switch to PSG.
Marmoush has scored ten goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances this season. He has averaged 5.79 touches in the opposition penalty area per 90 minutes played. The striker’s willingness to stay forward and make a nuisance of himself in the penalty area makes him a handful for any defence. He has a non-penalty xG of 0.39 per 90.
The Egyptian international missed a golden opportunity in his club’s last game against Borussia Dortmund. Despite his struggles, he still played for the full duration of the match, and he will be keen to get his name back on the scoresheet when the Bundesliga returns. Marmoush has scored twice and assisted three in his last five league games.
- Frankfurt vs Union Berlin Prediction 3: Omar Marmoush To Score
- Best Odds: 3.10
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 5/10

Frankfurt vs Union Berlin Team News and Possible Lineups
Eintracht Frankfurt have several absentees ahead of this game. Sebastian Rode, Mehdi Loune and Sidney Raebiger all are set to miss out so Toppmoller has few options in centre-midfield. Sasa Kalajdzic has a cruciate ligament tear so won’t feature for the rest of the season.
Union Berlin have no injury worries ahead of this one. Andras Schafer is set to return after he picked up a red card in the team’s 2-0 loss against Stuttgart in their last away game. Nenad Bkelica could opt to leave the midfielder out of this one and name an unchanged team after the win of Werder Bremen. Lucas Tousart will be suspended if he picks up a yellow card in this game.
Frankfurt possible starting lineup: Trapp; Pacho, Koch, Tuta; Nkounkou, Larsson, Skhiri, Ebimbe; Knauff, Gotze, Marmoush
Union Berlin possible starting lineup: Rannow; Leite, Vogt, Doekhi; Gosens, Khedira, Tousart, Trimmel, Aaronson; Vertessen, Kaufmann
