Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Prediction: Team News and Lineups Preview

Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Prediction: Team News and Lineups Preview
30 March 2024, Hesse, Frankfurt/Main: Soccer: Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt - 1. FC Union Berlin, Matchday 27, Deutsche Bank Park. Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush reacts

Scott Thornton has put together his Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen prediction, team news, lineups and fixtures preview with the sides set to kick off the next round of Bundesliga matches on Friday night.

Eleven points separate these sides ahead of this one. The home side’s focus is ensuring they are participating in European competition. The gap to RB Leipzig looks too big to bridge at this stage but they still have to fend off the teams behind them. Werder Bremen, on the other hand, are firmly in mid-table.

  1. Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Tip 1: Frankfurt To Win
  2. Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Tip 2: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals
  3. Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Tip 3: Under 9.5 Asian Corners

Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Prediction 1: Home Advantage Could Be Decisive

Germany, Bundesliga, Friday, April 5th, 19:30 (UK)

Eintracht Frankfurt suffered a setback in their last game. They were unable to get the better of Union Berlin as the teams drew 0-0. Dino Toppmoller’s side still have breathing space in the Europa Conference League qualification spot with Augsburg currently five points behind. However, there is still plenty of work to do and we are backing them to return to winning ways on Friday.

Toppmoller’s side have lost just once at home in the Bundesliga this season. That solitary defeat came against Stuttgart at the end of November. Since then, they are unbeaten in seven. The highlight is undoubtedly a 5-1 win over Bayern Munich. Home advantage should be enough to help them come away with all three points here.

Werder Bremen are on a run of five Bundesliga matches without and have lost the last four. Their last four points in the Bundesliga have come against teams who are in the relegation zone so getting a result at Deutsche Bank Park looks a tall order. They were beaten 2-0 at this ground last season. In fact, Bremen have picked up just one win away to Eintracht Frankfurt in the last ten attempts.

  • Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Prediction 1: Frankfurt To Win (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.85
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Prediction 2: Visitors Pose a Threat of Their Own

Both of these sides played their part in a thrilling 2-2 draw earlier in the season. There were chances at both ends as possession was evenly shared. The home side finished the match with an xG of 1.55. Eintracht Frankfurt had an xG of 2.01. We should see goals once again so the second prediction is for both teams to score and for their to be at least three goals in the match.

This bet has won in five of Eintracht Frankfurt’s last six Bundesliga matches, so the 0-0 draw with Union Berlin last weekend is seemingly an anomaly. Toppmoller’s side have failed to score in just two of their league home league matches in this campaign.

Werder Bremen have lost their last two away matches 2-1. They are averaging 1.08 goals per game on the road in the Bundesliga this season. The River Islander’s matches in the league this season have seen an average of 2.89 goals. Despite their woes on the road, they have managed to score in their last seven away matches in the German top flight.

  • Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Prediction 2: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals
  • Best Odds: 2.05
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Prediction 3: Corners at a Premium

The last betting angle for this match is under 9.5 corners on bet365’s Asian market. Both of these sides rank near the bottom of the Bundesliga in terms of corners won and that trend looks set to continue.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s matches have seen the second-fewest corners in the division with an average of 9.07. They have played five home matches in the league this calendar year and those have seen an average of just 7.2 corners. Just one of those games saw more than eight corners.

Werder Bremen have won an average of 3.59 corners per league game this season. That drops to 3.23 when they are playing away from home and it is well below the league average of 4.99 corners. Their away matches have seen 9.23 corners on average. There were just seven corners in the match the last time that Frankfurt visited this ground. Under 9.5 corners has also won in Werder Bremen’s last three away matches with none of those seeing more than eight.

  • Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Prediction 3: Under 9.5 Asian Corners
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10
