Freiburg vs Bayern Munich Tip 1: Defence Struggles Set to Continue

Germany, Bundesliga, Friday, March 1st, 19:30 (UK)

Bayern Munich are up against it in the title race, but they remain in the race after beating RB Leipzig 2-1 last weekend. Harry Kane scored twice to ensure the gap to Bayer Leverkusen remained eight points. Thomas Tuchel’s side needs to be perfect from now until the end of the season to have any hope of lifting a 12th consecutive Bundesliga title.

Tuchel’s side has kept just two clean sheets in their nine matches since the winter break. Those games have seen an average of 2.89 goals, so we are backing both teams to score over 2.5 goals in the match with bet365 here. Bayern’s away matches in the Bundesliga have seen an average of 3.82 goals, with the Bavarians scoring 2.18.

Freiburg have lost just two home games in the league this season. They have failed to score in front of their own fans in just one of those 11 matches, which have seen an average of 3.36 goals. Christian Streich’s side has a miserable record against Bayern, but the reigning champions have looked vulnerable lately.

  • Freiburg vs Bayern Munich Tip 1: BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.86
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 10/10

Freiburg vs Bayern Munich Tip 2: Bayern Building Momentum

Bayern have already announced that Thomas Tuchel will leave the club at the end of the season. While their search for the next manager goes on at boardroom level, the team still have the chance to win silverware this season. They have the opportunity to build some momentum here by making it back-to-back victories before they face Lazio in the Champions League.

The Bavarians played well against RB Leipzig to successfully arrest their slump. Key players are approaching full fitness after injury, so expect them to get the job done here. We can back an away win and over 2.5 goals in the match at 1.86 with bet365. This bet has won in six of Bayern’s seven Bundesliga away games in this campaign.

Bayern attack has the quality to score three goals on their own, but Freiburg should contribute. Since the restart, Freiburg have played seven matches, and there have been at least three goals in six of those. Despite the 0-0 draw with Union Berlin in Freiburg’s first game after the winter break, those seven games have still seen an average of 3.57 goals.

  • Freiburg vs Bayern Munich Tip 2: Bayern Munich To Win & Over 2.5 Goals
  • Best Odds: 1.86
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 10/10

Freiburg vs Bayern Munich Tip 3: Musiala is a Difference-Maker

The last of our picks is Jamal Musiala to score in the match at odds of 3.20 with bet365. Harry Kane has been the main goal threat for Bayern, but his price is a little short of being backable. We are expecting plenty of goals in this one, and Musiala looks like a good pick, given his recent performances.

Musiala assisted Kane’s first goal in the win over Leipzig. He also scored in Bayern’s most recent away match as his side lost 3-2 against Bochum. The midfielder is incredibly versatile, and it makes him difficult to pin down. He has started out wide of late, but he is also capable of operating as a number 10.

Jamal has a non-penalty xG of 0.28, which means he ranks in the 74th percentile when compared with attacking midfielders and wingers across Europe’s top five leagues. He has found the net six times in the Bundesliga this season. Only Leroy Sane and Kane have scored more for Bayern, but Musiala finds himself in better form than the German winger, so he is our pick on Friday night.

  • Freiburg vs Bayern Munich Tip 3: Jamal Musiala To Score
  • Best Odds: 3.20
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 5/10

Freiburg vs Bayern Munich Team News and Possible Lineups: Bayern a little light post-UCL

The home side have three centre-backs out for this one. Kenneth Schmidt, Max Rosenfelder and Philipp Lienhart are all injured. Daniel-Kofi Kyereh remains out after tearing his cruciate ligament in the summer.

Injuries have undoubtedly had an impact on Bayern Munich’s season. Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry have been absent for a lengthy period. The wide players have been a big miss in attack. Tuchel also has problems in defence, with Noussair Mazraoui and Sacha Boey missing at right-back. Joshua Kimmich played that role in the last match and is likely to do the same here. Matthijs De Ligt will also be suspended for this one.

Freiburg possible starting lineup:
Atubolu; Gunter, Gulde, Hofler, Kubler; Rohl, Eggestein, Grigo, Doan; Holer, Gregoritsch

Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Guerreiro, Dier, Min-Jae, Kimmich; Pavlovic, Goretzka, Muller, Musiala, Sane; Kane
