Here at bettingexpert Expert Insights, we have taken a look at the action across Europe on Friday night and have previewed three matches. Dominant hosts in Holland, a tightly contested affair in England and backing an in-form forward in Spain look the best bets.
In this article:
Netherlands, Eerste Divisie, Friday, March 10th, 19:00 (UK)
With 76 goals, Heracles have scored the most in Holland’s Eerste Divisie. They occupy 2nd spot and are just three points behind the league leaders. At home, they’re the best-attacking side and I’m keen to get onside with them in the goals department.
Emil Hansson, Samuel Armenteros and Nikolai Laursen have all scored double-digit goals for John Lammers’ side as they’re well on the way to bouncing straight back up to the top flight.
Jong AZ are sat in 8th, they’ve conceded 44 in 27 matches with 25 of those arriving on the road. In their previous three away trips, 12 goals have ended up in the back of their net. Zwolle, the league leaders won 4-1 when they met just a few weeks ago and I can see a similar scoreline on Friday night.
Heracles have scored 27 first-half goals at home this season across 13 matches. 22 goals have arrived after the break. 77% of matches have seen them score in the first half, that’s the same percentage for the second 45.
This bet has landed in 8/13 matches for the hosts this campaign and 6/13 against the away side, which includes each of their last three. The last time the hosts played here, they won 7-0. Goals are expected and I am confident the home side can find the back of the net in both halves.
England, Championship, Friday, March 10th, 20:00 (UK)
The Friday night Championship clash provides little excitement on first glance, but that doesn’t always matter when you’re looking for a bet. The visitors have lost just once in 2023 whilst Alex Neil’s side arrive here after hitting Sunderland for five the previous weekend.
The goal averages are relatively low when these sides play at home and away respectively. Just 39 goals have been scored in 17 matches at the Bet365 Stadium. 41 goals have come in 18 away matches for Blackburn, they both average more or less the same number, 2.28.
In recent matchups, goals have been few and far between, across the last eight league meetings dating back to 2019, just 10 goals have been scored. The reverse fixture at Ewood Park back in August saw a single goal with six yellow cards.
It’s tricky to see a handful of goals being scored here, unders is of course favoured by the bookmakers.
Blackburn have received a second-half card in 15 of their 18 away matches this season. All 18 of their opponents received a caution after the break. Stoke have been carded in 12 games from 17 in the second 45, with their opponents seeing one in 16.
Combining a relatively low-scoring game and a competitive second half, it looks like a strong bet. This also landed when they played earlier on in the campaign.
Spain, La Liga, Friday, March 10th, 20:00 (UK)
There’s a huge game in Spain on Friday night at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla. Cadiz sits one spot and one point above Getafe in 15th but hover above the extremely tight bottom three by the skin of their teeth.
Cadiz’s results have improved in 2023, they’ve won four of their nine games since the return but can’t afford to take their foot off the gas. Getafe have tasted defeat just once in their last five, they can thank Enes Unal for a large part of that.
Despite Quique Flores’ side only scoring more than five clubs, Enes Unal is the 4th top scorer. The Turkish forward has scored in four of the last five games including two inside 15 minutes last weekend. His goals could decide whether Getafe play top-flight football again next season.
When these sides met in November, it ended goalless despite the 28 shots. Three red cards were shown, nothing unusual in a clash at the foot of the La Liga table.
I’m siding with Getafe’s danger man. He’s a cracking price to record a shot on target, which has cashed in each of his last five outings. He’ll most likely be the designated penalty taker after dispatching one in their most recent win.
There’s a huge price difference with this selection, as short as 1.28 but priced at 1.98 elsewhere. Given the striker’s impressive form in front of the goal, the price at slightly under even money seems a solid angle.

A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create Premier League accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
