Friday Night Football Acca: September, 30th

The international break is over and we are back to the bread and butter and our Friday Night acca tips. Domestic action returns in the major European Leagues this Friday. Games in England, Spain and France have my full attention. Three players fall under the spotlight and form my bettingexpert Friday Night Acca.

In this article:

Hull vs Luton Preview

England, Championship, Friday, September 30th, 20:00 (UK)

The International break came at the right time for Shota Arveladze. After a promising start to the campaign, Hull are on a run of five defeats in six games including each of the last four. A sequence which has seen his side slip down to 20th in the table just a point above the relegation zone. Such is the congested nature of the Championship that a win here will see them leapfrog the visitors to take a place in the top half heading into the weekend. To do that, the Tigers will need to end a goal drought which has seen them blank in their last three fixtures.

In contrast, Luton went into the break on a high with a 2-0 defeat of Blackburn. Consolidating a good run of form which has seen them lose just one of their last six outings. Three points at the MKM Stadium will lift them into the play-off places ahead of the weekend fixtures. The Hatters will certainly travel in confidence having won their last two league road trips.

Hull vs Luton Best Bet

The stats suggest a perfect storm. Hull have conceded the most goals in the division at 21. They’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in all five home outings. They have shipped 18 times in their last six league games. Conceding at least twice in all of those clashes. Whereas Luton have scored two goals in four of their last six league games. Summer signing Clinton Morris has been the catalyst for that run. The Hatters’ top scorer bagged all six of his goals this season in that period. He will be licking his lips at the chance to add to that tally against this error-strewn home defence.

  • Selection: Carlton Morris to score (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 3.75 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 5/10

Athletic Bilbao vs Almeria Preview

Spain, La Liga, Friday, September 30th, 20:00 (UK)

Ernesto Valverde is in his third spell as manager at Estadio San Mamés. After a highly-entertaining 3-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano last time out, this is the two-time La Liga winners’ most successful start of the three. They begin the weekend in 4th having amassed 13 points from their opening six fixtures. A win here against newly-promoted Almeria will lift Los Leones behind 2nd-placed Barcelona on goal difference alone.

Rojiblancos travel to Basque Country on the back of three consecutive defeats – albeit by the only goal scored in each of those matches. Rubi’s side have already registered an impressive 2-1 win against Sevilla and a narrow 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid so it would be unwise to take the visitors lightly. The departure of last season’s top scorer Umar Sadiq is clearly being felt. However, Almeria have remained competitive despite their lack of firepower.

Athletic Bilbao vs Almeria Best Bet

Only Spanish powerhouses Real Madrid and Barcelona have bettered Athletic Bilbao’s 12 goals so far this season. 11 of those coming in their last three victories. Although brothers Iñaki and Nico Williams have been grabbing the headlines, it is their teammate Alex Berenguer who is the top goalscorer. Despite a quiet outing against Rayo Vallecano last time the 27-year-old still has three goals in his last five appearances. He has a 50% conversion rate to his shots on target so far this term. Currently averaging a shot every 25 minutes of La Liga action I am taking the wide man to get back amongst the goals here.

  • Selection: Alex Berenguer to score
  • Best Odds: 3.40 (Betfair)
  • Stakes: 4/10

Angers vs Marseille Preview

France, Ligue 1, Friday, September 30th, 20:00 (UK)

Angers went into the international break in good heart. Having waited until their seventh league game to record their maiden victory. Le SCO followed up with another three points in their very next fixture defeating Nice 1-0. Although their cause was helped at Allianz Riviera by a red card for the host’s Jean-Clair Todibo in just the 9th second! Gerald Baticle will have eyes on a top-half berth if he can mastermind a third win on the bounce.

Marseille will be pleased with their body of work across the opening eight games. Undefeated and just two points adrift of champions-elect PSG. After calling a hectic run of fixtures “inhuman”, coach Igor Tudor was surely grateful for the break in domestic action. The Olympians certainly looked leggy in the 1-1 draw with Rennes last time out. That contest was their fourth in just 12 days. They will travel to Stade Raymond-Kopa with confidence however having recorded 12 wins from their last 17 league away days.

Angers vs Marseille Best Bet

Matteo Guendouzi dominated proceedings at the Orange Velodrome. The ex-Arsenal man scored for both teams either side of the half-time interval. The 23-year-old midfielder has caught my eye this season. Often playing in a more advanced role than what we had been accustomed to. He has fired eight shots in five starts behind the striker. So looks good value to get on the scoresheet here now he has the taste for goals.

  • Selection: Matteo Guendouzi to score
  • Best Odds: 7.50 (Betfair)
  • Stakes: 3/10

WHAT IS A FOOTBALL ACCA?

A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
