Barnet vs Scunthorpe Preview

England, National League, Friday, October 28th, 19:45 (UK)

It’s a quick turnaround for these two clubs who were both in National League action on Tuesday evening. Following a goalless first half, Barnet’s match with play-off rivals Bromley exploded into life after the restart. The Ravens took a 66th-minute lead through Charles Clayden and looked to be holding firm for the three points. Dean Brennan’s side had other ideas however and were not content with an 85th-minute equaliser from Idris Kanu. Harry Pritchard scored twice in added-on time to move the Bees within a point of the play-off places.

As for the visitors, two Joe Nuttall penalties secured a first league win in five. The come-from-behind victory over Gateshead moved the Iron out of the National League relegation zone. It’s now only one defeat in the last eight games under interim manager Tony Daw. Although five draws in that sequence mean it’s been a steady turnaround rather than spectacular. However, following six defeats from their opening seven games it’s been a job well done for a club that lost its EFL status only last season.

Barnet vs Scunthorpe Best Bet

In-form Barnet are on a run of three wins from their last four outings. The one defeat being the incredible 7-5 loss at Wrexham. Goals have been in steady supply at both ends and that should continue here. Scunthorpe are yet to keep a clean sheet from their opening 15 fixtures. Conceding exactly two goals per game on average.

That run is set to be extended here by the hosts who have the third-best attacking record in the division. Dean Brennan has seen his side plunder 32 goals already this term. With top scorer Nicke Kabamba contributing 10 of those in his 15 appearances. Seven have come in his last six games and he will be confident of getting on the scoresheet once more here.

  • Selection: Nicke Kabamba to score
  • Best Odds: 2.05 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 6/10

Birmingham vs QPR Preview

England, Championship, Friday, October 28th, 20:00 (UK)

Jay Rodriguez’s late penalty for Burnley knocked QPR off the top of the Championship on Tuesday evening. With a gap of two points to close, the R’s know nothing less than a win here will be enough to regain their pole position. Given the noise around Mick Beale in recent weeks and strong links to vacant manager positions at both Wolves and Aston Villa. It’s testament to his side’s focus that they have won both games in the last 10 days. Following an emphatic “no chance” with regards to jumping ship and a pledge of loyalty, it appears Beale and his young team can give full focus purely to matters on the pitch.
John Eustace is another manager doing sterling work. It would have been interesting to see if the former QPR coach would have been a frontrunner to return to Loftus Road had Beale opted for pastures new.

The weekend defeat at Blackburn was just a second loss in nine outings. Sitting in 15th is possibly a loftier perch than many expected given the turmoil at St. Andrews. However, a note of caution would be that due to the congested nature of the Championship, the gap to the bottom three is just three points.

Birmingham vs QPR Best Bet

The Blues have built their foundations on a strong defence. Only Preston have conceded fewer than their 15 goals so this won’t be a straightforward task for the visitors. The key man in trying to unlock the home defence will be Ilias Chair. Seemingly revelling in the added responsibility in the absence of Chris Willock. He has missed four games since suffering a hamstring injury in netting his sixth goal of the season in the win at Sheffield United.

With three goals and six assists, Chair has had a hand in 36% of his sides league goals this season. Only two players have taken more shots than the Moroccon’s 43. He has fired off at least two attempts at goal in each of his last 15 Championship games only twice failing to hit the target at least once.

  • Selection: Ilias Chair over 1.5 shots and over 0.5 shots on target in the match
  • Best Odds: 1.80 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 8/10

Lens vs Toulouse Preview

France, Ligue 1, Friday, October 28th, 20:00 (UK)

Since their promotion in 2020, Lens have impressively recorded successive 7th-placed finishes. This season could be even better for Les Sang et Or. Following a big 1-0 win over Marseille last weekend, Franck Haise’s side kick off Matchday 13 with only PSG ahead of them. A win at Stade Bollaert-Delelis will see them close the gap to just two points. Confidence in doing that will be high having recorded six wins from their opening six fixtures here.

Philippe Montanier was left frustrated by his side’s 2-2 draw with Strasbourg on Sunday. Le Tef were two goals to the good with 25 minutes to play but tossed away two points and also saw Rasmus Nicolaisen sent off. That being said the newly promoted side are currently 10th with a nice seven point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone. The Violets also travel at least having stopped their away day rot. Three successive defeats on the road were halted by gaining a point at Lyon in their last fixture away from home.

Lens vs Toulouse Best Bet

Haise praised his players’ “defensive performance” following Sunday’s victory. Something which has been evident throughout a campaign where Brice Samba has only conceded eight times from the opening 12 fixtures. Allowing just one goal in their last six outings. There isn’t a history of goals in this clash either. The last 15 meetings between these two sides saw no more than two goals. Coupled with Lens’ outstanding home record this is a fantastic opportunity to put those two outcomes together to provide a nicely-priced bet builder.

  • Selection: Lens to win and under 5 goals
  • Best Odds: 2.00 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 7/10

WHAT IS A FOOTBALL ACCA?

A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
