The football schedule is relentless at this time of the season and we head straight into this weekend’s league fixtures off the back of a busy week of European football.

There is action from England, Spain, Italy and France on Friday night, and crucially there is some value to be had. I have some picks to get you started on this busy weekend of football.

AC Milan sit at the top of the Serie A and the pressure is starting to mount as they look to secure their first Scudetto since 2011. The Rossonieri have drawn their last two league matches 0-0 and their crosstown rivals are hot on their heels.

Milan have experienced a slump in their form in recent weeks and this has been largely due to the lack of goals. Stefano Pioli’s side have managed to score more than one goal just twice in their last 10 league matches and the team average 0.9 goals per game over that period.

Genoa’s recent matches have also been far from free scoring. Just one of their last 10 matches have seen more than 2 goals and only three have seen more than one goal. Incredibly, five of their last 10 matches have finished 0-0, so I’m happy to back against goals in this one.

Bet 365 have under 2.5 goals in the match priced at a very generous 1.90. This has landed in eight of Milan’s last 10 and nine of Genoa’s last 10 and I see no reason why it won’t happen again here.

Real Sociedad vs Real Betis Best Bet

Friday, April 15th, 20:00 (UK Time)

Both of these teams are just outside of the Champions League spots in La Liga and defeat in this match would likely spell the end to one of their hopes of breaking into that top four.

The teams have met twice already this season and Betis have won 4-0 on both occasions. Another win for Pellegrini’s men here would see them jump above Atletico Madrid in fourth spot. A win for Sociedad would see them move level on points with Atletico, so there really is everything to play fro.

With the importance of the game being factored in, I’m backing this game to feature a number of goals. The home side will be keen to avenge their two embarrassing defeats at the hands of Betis this season.

Both of the teams have failed to score in just two of their last 10 matches and both have the attacking talent to cause the other problems. William Hill are giving us odds of 1.80 for both teams to score in the match and this is very appealing when considering just how important three points would be for Sociedad and Betis.

Derby vs Fulham Best Bets

Wayne Rooney’s Derby side have earned many plaudits as the season has rolled on for the way they’ve tackles the almost insurmountable task of Championship survival. The Rams were handed a 21 point deduction and were extremely light on players at the start of the season. At one stage it looked like they may complete the great escape, but succumbing to relegation is more than likely at this stage.

In contrast, Fulham are the runaway league leaders and are destined for Premier League football next season. The team have been free scoring and have a goal difference of +59. Their star striker Alelsandar Mitrovic is the league’s top scorer with a whopping 38 goals, 14 ahead of his nearest rival.

It’s do or die time for Derby and this should play into the hands of their opponents as they leave space when going for the win. As a result, a Fulham win and a couple of goals are on the agenda for my pick in this match.

Bet 365 are offering us 2.00 for there to be more than one goal in the match and Fulham to come away with the three points.
