Nathan Joyes is on hand for us here at bettingexpert with a Getafe vs Las Palmas prediction, team news, lineups and fixtures preview in La Liga.
Our Getafe vs Las Palmas prediction is for Getafe to win the match 2-1.
In this article:
Spain, La Liga, Saturday, March 2nd, 17:30 (UK)
Both these sides faced heavy defeats recently, and they’ll want to get back to winning ways with an outside shot of Europe on the table.
It’s been a lack of consistency for Getafe at the Coliseum, who have won five but lost three of their last eight home matches. They haven’t drawn since they hosted Betis back in October.
Jaime Mata made sure their drawless run continued with a last-gasp winner in an enthralling 3-2 victory over Celta Vigo. Although they showed goalscoring not to be an outstanding issue, defensively, they were vulnerable once more.
They’ve now conceded ten goals in their last five matches, and something needs to change if they are to pull themselves into a European spot in the next campaign.
Las Palmas is another team that lacks consistency. Atletico Madrid simply brushed them aside 5-0 in their last away match, offering very little going forward.
Although not expected to challenge the best team at home in La Liga, it was a huge reality check after recent away victories vs Alaves and Rayo Vallecano.
Las Palmas won the reverse leg 2-0 and had a goal chalked off from VAR. Getafe’s Omar Alderete was sent off in the 48th minute, and so we can take their victory with a pinch of salt.
Getafe are winning at home, especially against teams around them. However, their defensive issues haven’t been solved, and Las Palmas will get opportunities if they work crosses into the box – the hosts Achilles heel.

Mason Greenwood hasn’t been too far away from the headlines in his short footballing career, and he takes up the back pages once again this week. It’s Jude Bellingham who may have landed himself in hot water after verbally abusing his compatriot during a recent fixture. Regardless, Greenwood remains available for selection here after Getafe head honchos have vowed to attempt to make his loan signing permanent.
For Las Palmas, Alvaro Lemos and Eric Curbelo remain doubts due to injury, leaving the away dugout with some food for thought similarly to last weekend.
Getafe possible starting lineup:
Soria; Rico, Alderete, Djene, Martin, Milla, Maksimovic, Iglesias Sanchez, Mata, Greenwood, Mayoral
Las Palmas possible starting lineup:
Alvaro Valles; Cardona, Marmol, Coco, Alex Suarez, Moleiro, Rodriguez, Loiodice, Javier Munoz, Marvin, Cardona
