The Puskás Aréna welcomes Hungary vs Serbia on Saturday night in Budapest, and of course, we’ve got bet builder tips for the big clash. It’s a difficult contest to predict in Group G of the Euro Qualifiers and I’d expect both would be happy with a point in the capital.
These two nations are far superior to the others who occupy the bottom three positions, being Montenegro, Bulgaria and Lithuania. The latter two are well out of contention with just two points apiece after five matches.
Our, expert Tom Winch provides us with a strong-looking bet-builder ahead of this kick-off in Budapest.

It’s difficult to split these sides at first glance. They both set up with a back three, just as we saw in the previous meeting. Defensively, they’re both usually impressive, and you don’t often see a huge amount of goal-heavy games. In the Nations League, Hungary conceded just five times in a group that contained England, Germany and Italy.
The Serbs weren’t exactly a tough nut to crack in Qatar. An opening-round defeat to Brazil perhaps forced them to become more aggressive and allow more of a risk at the back. Since then, they’ve conceded just four times in five outings.
With Hungary priced around 2.55 and Serbia at 2.80, I’m happy to back this clash to be a draw, which will suit both. Montenegro are the only challengers in this group and still have to make trips to Hungary and Serbia, almost certainly needing to win, a huge ask given they’ve already failed to score at home against the pair.
Following on from the draw selection, I’m confident that this won’t be a shootout. Backing under 3.5 goals rules out anything other than a 0-0 or 1-1. The last competitive clash here ended 1-1, so there’s some history to back that up.
With the goal line set at 2.25, it’s clear that this game is expected to be relatively cagey from the bookmaker’s point of view. We should expect large spells of possession from each in the opening stages as the two nations feel each other out and get to grips with the game.
England fans will know how solid and compact the Hungarians were across the Nations League.
This bet builder isn’t the most exciting, is it? Let’s add another selection that takes the odds up to 5.00. We’re adding a corner angle, a stat that’s hugely in favour of both sides.
Since the opening round of the World Cup, Serbia have played eight consecutive matches against all types of opposition. Fifty corners were taken in those matches, an average of just 6.25 per90. All eight of those matches have seen ten or fewer corner kicks.
Nine of Hungary’s previous ten matches have seen this line land, including the reverse fixture in Belgrade, where eight corners came that night. It’s an angle worth considering for sure; international football appears to see a lower amount of corners than club football, so potentially something to take advantage of.
