Jimmy’s Punt Acca: Saturday, February 11th

This weekly feature got up and running on the fourth attempt last weekend with a 60/1 winner.

Everton vs Arsenal went exactly to plan with the hosts edging a tight affair and Jordan Pickford showcasing all the pantomime villainry in his repertoire earning him a card in the 86th minute.

The calendar has thrown together plenty of derbies and grudge matches this weekend, and with that in mind, I have a card Trixie At 73.00.

1pt staked, profit if two click and quids in if by some miracle all the selections are carded.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton Preview

England, Premier League, Saturday, February 11, 15:00 (UK)

I would be lying if I said I knew how this rivalry started.

I first became aware of it when these sides met in the Championship play-offs semi-finals 10 years ago, games that very much stoked the fire.

Wilfried Zaha, loaned from Manchester United, scored a brace for the Eagles to send them to Wembley.

Brighton come into this the favourites at a shade over evens, despite travelling to the capital.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have been a joy to watch recently. Unbeaten since January, they have only lost one of their last eight games and that defeat came against leaders Arsenal.

It is such a cliche but form counts for little in a game like this though.

The last time these sides met at Selhurst Park there was plenty of beef.

A late Neal Maupay equaliser sparked pandemonium in the away end, there were seven cards in total that evening and I am hoping for more of the same this weekend.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton Best Bet

A Moises Caicedo card is the fancy.

First and foremost, the 5.50 available with bet365 looks huge, considering he has been carded six times in 19 league appearances this campaign.

Staggeringly, all of those cards have come in his last 11 appearances.

The most recent of which in a cameo against Bournemouth. Given the confusing saga around a suspected January exit, perhaps a sign of the player’s frustration and a failed move to the league leaders.

This will also be the Ecuadorian’s first taste of this occasion, and at only 21 years old, the emotion may get the better of him.

  • Selection: Moises Caicedo card (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 5.50 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 10/10

Burnley vs Preston Preview

England, Premier League, Friday, December 30, 20:00 (UK)

A Lancashire derby.

The reverse was the first competitive meeting in six years, a real tight affair. Nothing could separate the two sides in terms of goals as it finished 1-1, and there was only 0.03 of an xG between them.

Only two points separated the two sides after that clash, though Burnley have since pulled away from everyone in the division.

The Clarets currently sit seven points clear of 2nd and 25 ahead of North End.

Having won their last seven league games on the spin, it is clear to see why Vincent Kompany’s side come into this one as clear favourites.

However, only the top two sides in the division (28) have taken more points on their travels than Ryan Lowe’s side (27) so a home victory at Turf Moor certainly is not a foregone conclusion.

Burnley vs Preston Best Bet

Ched Evans has racked up six cards in just over 1,000 minutes of domestic action this campaign, a cards per 90 average of over 0.52.

He has started eight of the last nine games, picking up four bookings over that period.

The majority of his cards have come away from home, and often when operating as a lone striker. It is not hard to imagine why that may be.

  • Selection: Ched Evans Card
  • Best Odds: 3.60 (888Sport)
  • Stakes: 5/10

Liverpool vs Everton Preview

England, Premier League, Monday, February 13, 20:00 (UK)

A Merseyside derby, under the lights at Anfield, on Monday night, in front of the TV cameras.

An intriguing prospect but, if Sean Dyche’s Toffees debut is anything to go by, I do not think we are in for a goal-laden clash. The reverse finished goalless.

I am hoping this game will make up for the lack of goals in terms of beef, which certainly has not been lacking in these sides’ recent meetings.

The last six matches have seen 30 yellows and one red card, with 14 bookings brandished in the two league meetings last campaign.

The circumstances bode well for cards with Liverpool’s torrid form and Everton’s recent revival.

In Simon Hooper, we do not have the best official though. He has averaged three cards per game in the top flight this season.

Hooper did dish out seven the last time he took charge of Everton, and has recently flashed eight at St James’ Park.

Liverpool vs Everton Best Bet

Neal Maupay, a master of the dark arts, should not be 4.33 for a card in a derby.

He re-acquainted himself with Arsenal from the bench last weekend, picking up a card in a short cameo to re-fuel the feud between himself and the Gunners.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin nursing a hamstring strain, the French forward may get the nod here and there is no doubt he will be right up for his first Merseyside derby.

  • Selection: Neal Maupay card (TRACKED)
  • Best Odds: 4.33 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 10/10

WHAT IS A FOOTBALL ACCA?

A  football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A  football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create Premier League accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
