Osasuna vs Alaves Best Bet

Alaves, bottom of the table after a 4-1 thrashing by Atletico Madrid last weekend, sacked coach Jose Luis Mendilibar and hired Julio Velazquez as his replacement on Tuesday. Six points from safety with eight games remaining, keeping Alaves in the top flight is a hard task, especially for a coach who has never managed in Spain’s top flight before.
Osasuna were thrashed at Real Betis last Sunday though and, firmly ensconced in mid-table, are not bad opponents for Velazquez to cut his teeth against. Five of Osasuna’s last seven league games have featured at least three goals, so with Alaves needing to attack to try and grab a vital win, we’ll back over 2.5 goals.

Espanyol vs Celta Vigo Best Bet

Celta Vigo were unfortunate to lost at home against Real Madrid last weekend, with the visitors given a trio of penalties. It was another spot kick that did for Espanyol on Monday against Real Sociedad too.
At the other end, the Catalan club were able to create an xG of just 0.3 in the defeat and without injured striker Raul de Tomas, who has netted 14 times this season, it’s hard to see where the goals are coming from.
However, under 2.5 goals is priced at a not very generous 1.66, so I prefer selecting a no on both teams to score.
Celta Vigo held vibrant attacking side Real Betis to a 0-0 draw a fortnight ago and also only conceded once against Champions League side Villarreal in March.

Elche vs Real Sociedad Best Bet

Real Sociedad, fighting for European football next season, should be able to add three points to their tally at Elche.
The hosts are not safe from relegation yet, six points above the drop zone, and have suffered four defeats in their last five games, with only a win at Granada in their favour. They don’t create a great deal and Real Sociedad have an excellent defence, with nine clean sheets in their last 11 La Liga matches.
In fact, when the Basque side win, they tend to do it ‘to nil’. Their last 10 wins in La Liga have come while shutting out their opponents – six 1-0s, and four 2-0s.
I’m going to back Imanol Alguacil’s side to win and suck Elche down towards the bottom of the table.

Levante vs Barcelona Best Bet

Barcelona are second, having risen from ninth place when coach Xavi Hernandez took over, and their form in La Liga has been sparkling, unbeaten since December 4th, when Real Betis won at Camp Nou.
Levante are battling relegation and managed to climb off the bottom of the table for the first time in four months last weekend, to 19th place.
Historically they have a good record against Barcelona, frustrating the Catalans in May 2018 with a thrilling 5-4 win that stopped them going the whole season unbeaten.
Barcelona have only won once in their last five visits to Ciutat de Valencia but given their superlative form in 2022 should take all three points. To get some value, we’ll apply a -1 Asian handicap.
