Leicester vs Manchester United Bet Builder: Thursday, September, 1st

With a midweek round of Premier League fixtures coming to a conclusion on Thursday, it means our Leicester vs Manchester United bet builder tips are not all that far away either. Tips that will focus on whether the Foxes can drag themselves off the bottom of the table.

While they will also focus on the Red Devils and with Erik ten Hag’s men picking up a narrow win away at Southampton on Sunday, they will look to build further momentum after such a sluggish start.

Leicester vs Manchester United Preview

Thursday, September 1st, 20:00 (UK)

It is fair to say that things are not clicking for Leicester this season and with the Foxes starting Thursday evening at the bottom of the Premier League, the pressure is beginning to mount on the shoulders of manager Brendan Rodgers.

Because although the Ulsterman had a decent amount of credit in the bank, his account has seemingly been wiped out in the past few weeks. To the point where the discussions regarding his employment are beginning to get louder.

While even if Rodgers does stay in the King Power hot seat, there is a sense that this squad has reached the end of its cycle. This means this could be nothing more than a transitional season at best.

Something that Manchester United’s hierarchy will not settle for and although Erik ten Hag has a huge task to undertake at Old Trafford, success was something that needed to be won yesterday.

Then again, after seeing the good, the bad and the very ugly already this season, United are at least beginning to build some momentum and although their win over Southampton on Saturday was not pretty, it at least hit the minimum objective of maximum points.

An objective that will be exactly the same this coming Thursday. This means with Leicester desperately searching for a first win of the season and United going up through the gears, this should make for a rather interesting clash.

Leicester vs Manchester United Stats & Facts

  • Before Thursday’s clash, the head-to-head record sees Leicester having won 36 matches, Manchester United 68 and there have been 31 draws.
  • While Leicester are unbeaten in any of their last five meetings with the Red Devils (W3 D2).
  • The last time United came out on top was back in July 2020. A 2-0 win under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, which played a huge part in the Foxes missing out on a top 4 finish that season.
  • There have been over 2.5 total goals in nine of Leicester’s last 10 league outings.

Leicester vs Manchester United Bet Builder

With Leicester misfiring at one end of the pitch and being incredibly generous at the other, it does not bode well for the visit of Manchester United on Thursday. Add the fact that they are bottom of the table right now and it seems as if the odds are stacked against them.

Admittedly there is not a massive difference between the two sides in terms of pre-match odds and for those of a Leicester persuasion, you can back them to earn a first league win of the season at 3.30.

However, I have plumped for a Manchester United win on Thursday, as Erik ten Hag continues to get to grips with his squad. A squad that is likely to include Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench.

This means I have opted for Marcus Rashford to score anytime. Not only because he will be tasked with playing through the middle once again but because he has scored in three of his last four visits to the King Power Stadium.

Add the fact that Leicester are shipping two goals per league game this season and this means selecting more than one total goal is also a logical step for any bet builder. However, for those who want to push the boundaries, going for over 2.5 goals is also worth a look.

If only because Jamie Vardy loves scoring against the Red Devils and although the ex-England international is no longer at the peak of his powers, anytime goal odds of 2.87 should not be ignored.

Then again, this is not a selection that is going on my bet builder, as I look to wrap things up. Although at least two total cards has made the cut before Thursday and when you combine the four elements together, it will return odds of 7.50.

  • Manchester United to Win
  • Marcus Rashford to Score Anytime
  • Over 1 total Goals
  • Over 1 total Cards

Bet Builder odds: 7.50

Odds via Bet365 as at 09:00 August 31st 2022. Odds may now differ.
