Angers vs Bordeaux Best Bet

Bordeaux travel to Angers at 14:00 on Sunday afternoon and are desperate to claim all three points, David Guion’s side are 19th in the table and six points adrift. The hosts sit 15th with just three game weeks to go.

The visitors have been nothing short of poor defensively this campaign, they’ve conceded a massive 85 goals in the league and 52 in just 17 away trips. Despite being so far down in the table they have scored more goals than any other side in the bottom half with 47, so goals certainly seem the way to go in this clash.

With my second selection I’m keen to get onside with the hosts Clermont, as they welcome Montpellier to Stade Gabriel Montpied in the early afternoon.

The hosts are just two points above the drop in 17th with Olivier Dall’Oglio’s men in 13th and have just pride to play for. Recent results have shown that as they are winless in the last six and have conceded 13 goals in that time. Five of those matches have seen them concede on multiple occasions.

Pascal Gastien’s side have only scored 19 times at home in 17 attempts but the motivational factor will certainly be with the home side as they look to remain in the top flight for a second successful season. They are priced at 1.80 to score twice against an ‘on the beach’ Montpellier squad in front of the home support.

Clermont face Strasbourg and Lyon in their final two league games who are both at the other end of the table so want to be relying on themselves to earn points in those two matches. A win at home on Sunday will give a huge boost to their survival.
Combining the goals and win together pays a strong looking price of 2.25, as mentioned before Montpellier’s season is complete so it’s a perfect chance for Clermont to counteract.

When Kylian Mbappe is in action there is every possible chance the French sensation will get himself on the scoresheet. The 23 year old is best priced at 1.53 to find the back of the net at any time however the forward has been on fire from the first whistle in recent weeks.

Mbappe is League 1’s top scorer which comes at little surprise, he’s bagged 24 in 32 this campaign. PSG face Troyes on Sunday night who have conceded 31 times away from home this season.

Seven of the last nine games in the French top flight has seen Kylian Mbappe find the back of the net and in all seven occasions the superstar has scored inside the opening 45 minutes. A price of 3.50 is on offer for him to add to that tally in scoring a first half goal and with the hosts already crowned as champions the pressure will be off them at the Parc des Princes.
