Our expert, Tom Winch, has delivered a Lorient vs Reims prediction, team news, standings and lineups preview for our eyes in Ligue 1. It’s goals which are firmly on the agenda for this one, favouring Overs for Leaky Lorient more than anything else.

In this article:
France, Ligue 1, Sunday, February 11th, 14:00 (UK)
Lorient and Reims have impressive stats when it comes to goals. The pair are very useful when it comes to finding the back of the net but also struggle to keep the goals out when playing at home and away, respectively.
The home side have scored 17 and conceded 20 in their ten matches here this season. Their only clean sheet arrived against Lens, whilst the times they failed to score were against Montpellier and Lens.
Reims have scored and conceded 15 times in their ten away days. They’ve scored in every outing except one and have kept a single shutout of their own.
A combined 15 matches from 20 have seen at least three goals. Lorient are desperate for points, given their position in the table, so I expect them to give it a good go on Sunday afternoon.
Reims also need a good result here. They’re currently 7th and only a handful of points away from the top 6. Will Still and his side will be desperate to earn a place in Europe next season, so games like these are certainly ones where they’ll need to earn all three points.
I expect both sides to contribute here. They’ve kept a combined two clean sheets from 20 this term. A combined five matches from six have seen three or more goals in 2024. I’m confident that’ll only improve in this encounter.
Lorient vs Reims Prediction odds via bet365 as at 11:00, February 6th, 2024. Odds may now differ.
Each of Tosin, Benjamin Mendy, and Boisgard will miss large chunks of February for Lorient as they’re nursed back to a clean bill of health on the treatment table.
Will Still will likely still be without a whole host of players as he continues to grapple with international commitments elsewhere and injuries. Ito and Nakamura continue to perform for Japan in the Asian Cup, while the two Diakites and Yunis Abdelhamid and Amir Richardson have AFCON duties to oversee in the Ivory Coast.
Lorient possible starting lineup:
Mvogo; Mouyokolo, Pelon, Toure; Carioca, Owaga, Abergel, Le Bris; Ponceau, Kari, Kroupi
Reims possible starting lineup:
Diouf; Foket, Okumu, Agbadou, De Smet; Edoa, Matusiwa, Teuma; Diakhon, Khadra, Daramy
