I’ve gone for a Sunday afternoon bet builder at odds of 13.00, as Manchester City play host to Newcastle and with the Etihad outfit starting the weekend at the top of the table, it is not a standing they are looking to relinquish by the end of it.

Of course, this is also a Manchester City side that now finds themselves with no trip to Paris at the end of the month and although the tickets were all but printed, there was a fundamental error in Madrid on Wednesday.

One that saw a one-goal aggregate advantage quickly switched to a deficit of the same margin and with European heartbreak now at the forefront for Pep Guardiola and his players, this does have the potential to completely derail City’s season.

Which means the visit of Newcastle will be a test for both manager and players alike and although the blue half of Manchester have seemingly had all the questions in the Premier League thus far, there is still one more module to complete.

Which is why a home win and a clean sheet to go alongside it, is something that seems rather tempting before the weekend and at odds of 1.83, this will also look good on any Sunday accumulator.

Then again, this is not the only market that takes my fancy and with no more than nine corners currently priced at 2.00 before Sunday’s festivities, this could also be an interesting way to double your money.
