We’ve got Newcastle vs Brentford bet builder tips for you ahead of an intriguing cog in the Premier League machine this upcoming weekend. Despite their Saudi millions, Newcastle sits in 14th place in the Premier League, with one win from four.
Granted, the Magpies have had a tough start to the season, facing Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brighton, but Eddie Howe will want improvement at home against 8th-placed, unbeaten Brentford. Saturday’s 17:30 kick-off promises to be a corker; Matthew O’Regan is here to guide you through it.

With the Toon currently in 14th place, Eddie Howe will be dissatisfied with his side’s start to the season despite the tough start. An opening day 5-1 dismantling of Aston Villa put the Magpies in good stead for a tough run of fixtures, but three losses from three has Howe’s side lingering in the bottom half.
A tough, gritty performance at the Etihad wasn’t enough to leave Manchester with anything, as the treble winners ran out 1-0 winners. Things looked good at halftime at home to Liverpool, with an Antony Gordan goal and a Virgil Van Dijk red card making it comfortable viewing for the Toon Army. However, a late capitulation saw Liverpool emerge victorious. This was followed up by a sub-par 3-1 defeat at the AMEX to Brighton.
In these games, over 2.5 goals has landed 3/4 times, the exception being the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City. BTTS has also landed three out of four times, showing their potency in attack but perhaps their fragility at the back.
Brentford, on the other hand, are unbeaten. The Bees could perhaps feel unlucky not to have won their opener, with Bryan Mbeumo missing a sitter on the stroke of halftime. Thomas Frank would’ve been happy with what he saw in the 2-2 draw and even happier with the 3-0 win at West London rivals Fulham. This was followed up by successive draws: 1-1 at home to Crystal Palace and 2-2 at Bournemouth.
Like Newcastle, over 2.5 goals has landed in three of four for Brentford, as well as BTTS.
Since the highly talked-about Ivan Toney ban, Brentford are unbeaten. This has mainly been due to the form of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa, who have scored 11 league goals between them. The deadly duo have also shown a willingness to shoot, with 44 shots combined in seven games—an average of 6.28 per game. Coincidentally, both have spread the shots evenly, with 22 each, for an average of over three shots per game.
This season, the 27-year-old has had two or more shots in every game, hitting three, seven, two, and three shots in his four league appearances thus far. With Newcastle conceding an average of 13.5 shots per game, the Bees should get ample opportunity to attack the goal.
The last leg of the bet builder comes from the props market. Newcastle may be victims of their difficult start, but the Magpies have been racking up the goal kicks. The season opener at home to Aston Villa saw eight goal kicks for Newcastle. The trip to the Etihad saw them rack up the same number while having six goal kicks against a Liverpool side that had ten men for over an hour. In the lackluster 3-1 defeat to Brighton, Newcastle were on the back foot the majority of the game and ended with six-goal kicks.
Brentford’s willingness to shoot has meant their opponents have had plenty of goal-kicks, too. Tottenham had five, Fulham seven, Crystal Palace six, and Bournemouth a staggering 14. With Thomas Frank willing to build on a positive start to the season and capitalise on Newcastle’s woes, expect the Bees to start on the front foot.
