Three away days for Newcastle, nothing in the way of points. That has been the tale of the tape for Eddie Howe’s men in recent weeks and with a home fixture awaiting them this Friday, it is one that will be rather welcome.

While when it comes to Newcastle’s own plight, their recent state of relaxation is no more and although their previous nine-game unbeaten run was nothing short of impressive, it is also becoming something of a distant memory.

Then again, without such an impressive run of results behind them, their situation towards the bottom of the Premier League would be a whole lot worse and although they have done a considerable amount of work to avoid relegation, their work is not yet done.
