For those who prefer to make long-term predictions, the PFA Young Player of the Year odds will likely be of interest to you. Because although the newest Premier League season is yet to begin, this market is already one that is welcoming bets.
A market that will see punters trawl through the PFA Young Player of the Year 2023 odds, in a bid to see which young starlet will scoop the award. While with this in mind, we are going to look at the initial runners and riders.
In this article:
All odds are via bet365 as at 11:00 on July 20th 2022. Odds may now differ.
First up we go to Arsenal and one of three main candidates that currently ply their trade at the Emirates. Our focus is first shone in the direction of England international Bukayo Saka.
Wth the Saka PFA Young Player of the Year Odds currently priced at 3.50, the versatile Arsenal star is the bookmakers’ favourite. This means if he plays anywhere near the high standards of last season, the award may already have his name on it.
Because if Saka has already dealt with a breakout season in the past, now is the time for him to really shine under Mikel Arteta. Should this be the case, his PFA Young Player of the Year odds will only shorten along the way.
Next up, we stay in the red half of North London and focus on Saka’s Brazilian teammate Gabriel Martinelli. With the 21-year-old currently second favourite with the bookmakers, his PFA Young Player of the Year 2023 odds are not all that much longer.
However, there is still some difference between the Saka and Martinelli PFA Young Player of the Year odds. With the forward currently priced at odds of 5.50, punters may also want to consider the former Ituano player for the award.
Especially as he scored six goals in 29 Premier League appearances last season. A tally that suggests that if Martinelli can build on these impressive statistics during 2022/23, Arsenal’s bid for a top 4 finish will be given a timely boost.
Although we are staying in the capital for our next selection, this time we are going south of the River Thames. A destination that also sees a rising Eagle in the PFA Young Player of the Year odds.
With the Olise PFA Young Player of the Year odds currently at 7.00, there is considerable confidence in the 20-year-old. Confidence that may only increase if he kicks on from his first season at Selhurst Park.
Because with Crystal Palace continuing to make impressive signings under the stewardship of Patrick Vieria, a new era is definitely underway in South London. The talented Olise is a big part of that.
Back to the Emirates next and the third of the contenders when it comes to the early PFA Young Player of the Year 2023 odds. While the player who makes up the Arsenal trio is none other than Emile Smith Rowe.
With the Smith Rowe PFA Young Player of the Year odds currently at 9.00, there may be an element of outside bet attached to it. However, the 21-year-old is the perfect position to bring that figure down considerably.
Should the England international find the heights that are expected of him this season, then there is no reason to suggest that he will not be the award’s recipient. This means much is expected of him and his two Arsenal teammates during the 2022/23 campaign.
Next up we take a trip to the West Midlands and focus on the Jacob Ramsey PFA Young Player of the Year odds. Odds that currently see this exciting talent also listed at the tempting price of 9.00
Admittedly Ramsey may have a bit more to do then the names above him in the list, but at the same time he could be Aston Villa’s key man in midfield next season. Therefore, if the 21-year-old is given the platform to shine, his current odds could quickly tumble.
Because with 34 out of 38 Premier League appearances made last season, Ramsey has quickly become one of manager Steven Gerrard’s most trusted players. Trust that will look to be repaid in the form of a top 10 finish.
Finally we go further north to Merseyside and look at the Harvey Elliott PFA Young Player of the Year odds. With these currently at 11.00, the former Blackburn loanee must be considered the last of the early genuine contenders.
While after that loan spell at Ewood Park during the 2020/21 season, Elliott impressed enough elsewhere to be given a new contract at Liverpool. Which means although he has been earmarked as one for the future, perhaps his time is now.
With the 19-year-old making six Premier League appearances last season, there is still an element of faith that needs to be earned from manager Jurgen Klopp. Should that be handed to this brightening star, this could be the campaign where he truly shows his worth.
